Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumarathunga says that there is a conspiracy to take the country to a military rule.
She mentioned this in an interview of a weekend newspaper.
She says that the current government is her creation. `This is a government I made through my party. I have severe criticism on this government. I still love SLFP. Therefore, I do not like to criticize it in public. But I see a danger of the country is being taken to a military rule.`
`I will not let it happen through the party my parents safeguarded democracy,` said Ms. Kumarathunga.
Stating that she was unwilling to return to politics and as Ms. Sunethra Bandaranaike also held the same view, a name would be proposed to the Aththanagalla electorate central party organization.
Ms. Bandaranaike stated that she made three mistakes in her political career. The first is coming to an agreement with the JVP. Second is dissolving the Ranil Wickramasinghe government. She further said that the third error would be revealed in the future.
She says that she is still in her all time view of that the two major parties should join to build the country.
Stating that the President Mahinda Rajapakse was made a national leader by herself, she criticized the current President through past incidents.

She was the head of this country for 11 long years. Why she couldn't join two major parties during that period?
May be due to greed for power.
She is stating that the President Mahinda Rajapakse was made a national leader by herself, may be on same grounds SB can claim he made her a national leader.
They all conveniently forget leaders are made by people but not by politicians. |

Third mistake was 'failing to solve the problem after she failed to do it even after she was in power for 11 long years'. |

only Three!! there are thousands... if you CBK can recall your memories...
all this is BS...... we can't blame her.. this is the real face of our politicians and leaders.... they say something before they come to power (to gain power), they say something else while they are in power (to stay in power),and finally they say something else (on who are in power, after loosing the power - to justify their being in power)..... it is all about the shameful political culture we have throughout decades... |

rd is the 'War for Peace' that slatted the developmemt projects and a solution to the national problem. Shame, this president is embaking on another war path on the pretext of 'War on Terror'.

Gunawardene,
You may be right.
By making M Rajapakse the Prime Minister by listening to Sinhala Buddhist monks and not giving to Luxman Kadirkamar.
