All the dead LTTE cadres were actually play acting (paid 2 bata slippers per hour).
Incidentally the make up artist for the rotting corpses won the Oscar awards for his creativity!
Steven Speilberg won the Academy award for the best science fiction movie!

True. But not at the expense of mother tongue. Sinhalese and Tamils in Sri Lanka have rich cultural heritage. Learning Sinhala and Tamil is the priority. We cannot follow Singaporean language policy due to the fact that it is a new nation.
u guys wont agree..SWRD made sinhala ony for sinhalese & send anura to oxford...after that when anura spoke in english you guys opened your mouths & waited.
English didn t help Anura. He was the no1 enemy of himself.

concerning to english...it stopped english medium schools....which are back again i SL
as int'l schools.
You are very naive. my friend. The GOSL schools ALWAYS had an English medium, it had Tamil medium as well. Zahira, Hindu, LAdies College, St. Josephs, St. Peters all have Tamil and english meduium classes. Schools in the East teach in tamil. School sin the Estate regiosn teach in Tamil
I did my local AL in English.
Where have you been?
The International school craze came only recently and they are filled with kids of new rich, diplomat's children or wannabe's
So this whole song about Sinhala Only is a mute point as this country always have been a tri-lingual nation. |

Yes the previleged always goes round the system..royal, thomas, peters, ladies...etc.
But still i am not sure whehter any GOSL school had english medium in late seventies/ eighties/ early nineties...out of colombo atleast.
