In a multi cultural society like Sri Lanka

Did you mean constitutional theocracy?
Did you mean rule by the majority from the majority for the majority?
If you really mean what you say please change the constitution and the flag to reflect the multicultural nature, for starters:))

... where in the constitution does it say that Sinhalese get prominance over Tamils? It is already multicultural if you failed to notice.

...National flag with Lion is also multi cultural. It is the flag of Nayakkars (Tamil line of kings who ruled the country). It is very multi cultural. Lion is the symbol of whole Sri Lankan nation. Not Sinhalese.

The symbol of Sinhalese is the Sun. It is even in the national flag!

Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country by constitution. Please read the first few articles of the constitution. By contrast, India which is flourishing, is a secular country by constitution.

The lion flag with the borders is the Kandyan flag. The minorities were added as an afterthought, 4 years later. The minorities are outside the flag within flag, the lion flag. Also the armecd lion is looking threateningly at the minorities.

Please don't tell me this is all news to you.

The cleansing of Srilanka started in 1948, when more than a million Tamils were excluded from citizenship overnight.

Please read about the Sinhala only, periodic ethnic pogroms and the state sponsored demographic engineering of the east before claiming we have a multicultural tradition:))

Aani, do you REALLY think that you are being 'heard'!???
LOLZ.

when you are at the loosing end of it, it's natural that you come out with all this jibberish!

if you want to witness multi-culturalism, say adios to your adopted home, and come live down in Colombo or Kandy for a year!
besides, do i have to make it a point to say that there won't be an eelam!??

This is what the constitution say

Buddhism.
9. The Republic of Sri Lanka shall give to Buddhism the foremost place and accordingly it shall be the duty of the State to protect and foster the Buddha Sasana, while assuring to all religions the rights granted by Articles 10 and 14(1)(e).

There is nothing wrong with this. Does it affect the Tamils in their lives?

Why don't you understand the simple truth?

Kandy was ruled by a line of Tamil Nayakkar kings. Lion flag is their flag...

No need to add any minorotoes for that...Lion flag itself is a symbol of minoroties...

Read the Norwegian constitution...

It says that Norway is a Chirstian state and non of the members of the parliament or the kings council could be elected if they are not Christians.

How is that for a change?

A government of a country has to protect what the majority believe in...it is their duty!
