Sansare:

Bro, **it could have happened** scenario is not fair to use to give conclusions. Generally, you have to write with **IF**.

Bro, I am not sure what the write word is... but, this kind of story could not have come without any base. Remember the story of a 'sramadana' in a church in Mannar and the denial by a priest.

S C Chandrahasan is the son of Samuvel Selvnayagam - If the non-violent movement had continued after 1977 we would have got our rights by now.

SANSARE,

Can you kindly tell me where Chandrahasan has said this. Not that I comply with Mr. Chandrahasan over this assertion, but I would like to know the context of his speech. According to my understanding, Eelam struggle always had an element of violence and it has never been a non-violent movement since it's inception.

EEE,
When you read the news, and if you have a great faith on Tamilnet, you have a fair reason to agree with it. But, to discuss on the matter, some times, we have to move away from our own mind-set and look at the point.

I gave a try for that Church attack SLA news and I saw some missing pieces in that news from the start.

Anyway, no one expect you or some other strong strong supporters to each side to change the own view at once...

lams both the Sri Lankan government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam for the mess in the island state.

I personally agree that there may be some truth to this statement. Especially given the culture in India on non-violence... Lack of Indian support may be rooted in this fact..

We need to verify this news item from independent sources.

If correct, it should be condemned by everyone. Over the years SLA has developed into a professional unit. In recent times despite the intensity of the war, we didn't hear many complaints against SLA.

Unlike other ethnic conflicts(eg Greeks & Turks) between Sinhalese & Tamils there is no hatred. May be it is due to the fact that both Sinhalese & Tamils have similar roots.

All efforts must be put in place to protect Tamil civilians. This war is only against the LTTE.

This is just tamilnet pro-LTTE propoganda. All these people are willingly helping the forces who are trying to liberate them from the clutches of terrorism!

Come on, man... there is lots of hatred between Tamils and Sinhalese in SL. Why did Sinhalese burned Tamils alive? you remember that, I assume.
