Sk63,
There is no truth in it and there is no way 100s of people can be accommodated in a camp.

Only reference to numbers in the above article is
More than 600 men of all ages were rounded up Sunday morning 7:00a.m. by Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troopers in Varanai, Kudamiyan and suburbs in Thenamaraadchi and taken away in military vehicles to be deployed for clean up and restoration work within and outside the military bases, sources in Jaffna said.

It does not say that '100s of people can be accommodated in a camp'.

It is true that you have been fairer than most of the contributers from the South. You must understand that Tamilnet relies on the informations supplied by the civilians who are on the ground and at the receiving end of extra-judicial treatments because the army does not allow any reporters other than their own. Under those restricted environment it is understandable errors do occur as in any other reporting under normal circumstances.

It is true that behind any independent reporters and cameras the army has a monopoly of control unchallenged and 'the road has once again been closed and the people are forced to use an alternate sandy gravel road'. It's illegal to use civilians 'to clean up check posts'.

The tiger butchers are speaking of 'great inconvenience'...caused by rain!
They have started blaming the Mother Nature also, when they cant find anybody else to point their blood soaked fingers!
The tiger murderers have buried huge quantities of land mines and other lethal weapons.
Its the duty of the GOSL to protect the civilians of the area.
What the tiger terrorists 'sowed' in this area have to be collected safely ....and the civilians in the area are doing the job of 'collecting the harvest' with the help of the SLDF!
Nothing wrong in this.
The civil population in the area do this job of cleaning as a shramadana work.
BRAVO !!

It seems some LTTE supporting members are also having a bit gray area in this news article.

Now, it may ends in lot of speculations like,

1. Number many not high as LTTE claims.

2. It was a shramadanaya organized my SLA, but some were asked to join by some sort of forceful words.

3. People those who generally against SLA 100% may felt the work for own area as a forced-work and informed to LTTE.

4. People participated to the sramadanaya as its a benefit to own area, but gave a general idea as its a forced participation to avoid LTTE bulling.

5. SLA is going to severely damage its hard-earned little name among Jaffna Tamils by asking them to clean camps by force.
