Why does this have to be news.?Sri Lanka is competing just like any other country for a seat in UNHCR. What if we don't contest, there are many other countries in Asia who are not contesting.

This kind of news is nothing but someones propaganda and fear mongering campaign. In days time Ranil will come out with a statement. Other websites will also be reporting this in various versions.

I saw somewhere that President has told that the war in North cannot be won. I quickly opened to read it with such interest only to find out that it is an anonymous UNP member who has heard this as a secret phone call. How credible?

NB: I read tamilnet.tv, it shows how media freedom functions at its best.

PoorDev!

Again showing your poor knowledge in History and Literature.

On one hand Mahawansa is a record book of major incidents and chronicles of Sri Lankan history (and many missing parts of Indian history also was unveiled by this book)

But on other hand Mahawansa was presented as a work of literature. So obviously it must have a artistic start, Vijaya story is developed like that.

This is where most of people who do not have a common sense goes wrong. (like you)

However from king Pandukabhaya onward there are enough archaeological facts to prove 99% of Mahawansa contents are true.

Go and read Mahawansa again using not only your eyes, but using your brain too (if you have)

Tamils earlier called Sri Lanka as 'Eelam' - It means Ceylon in English

You better fist learn about linguistic patterns across languages. Check how Portuguese language would pronounce 'Sinhale' and 'Eelam', then you will realize how 'Sinhale' became 'Ceylon'

Please note that Tamils lived here for a long time

Any proofs?? Over the time any society will mixed up with different people from different cultures. That is common for Tamils, Sinhalese, English, Chinese, ect... Ex: Black Africans brought to America as slaves are now engaged in American culture. They are no more Africans they are Americans.

Both SL Tamils and SL Sinhalease are decendent of India

Explain me from where the Indians descended? Where they created by 'Brahma'? Remember, the country you see as India today was created by British rulers. Before that there wasn't a country call India.
It is not unusual to see common cultures in close regions. Ex: In Europe many people follow Jesus, they use spoons and forks to eat, ect...

BinKunda's favorite word seems to be 'hikzzz' and 'hak hak'. No posting without those words!
