I have had people ask about Arthur C Clarke when I say I am from SL, in more than one country.
He is better known than the president:))

I think, people those who need info on this, must check with police records in SL. No newspaper is talknig on this.

Jobless journalists can write pages of this kind of BS.

This kind of things make sense to themselves.

Of course..... Of course President is well known in HR circles and Amnesty International...

Arthur C. Clarke, though not born in Sri Lanka, brought respectability to the country, unlike many present day politicians in the South!

mm, Sinhalese are very friendly with foreigners become very visible since 1983..
India become their dear friends sending troops to look after tamils..
Ausy become dears after issuing warnings after warning not to visit SL..
UK become sole mate after Karuna's diplomat engagements ?
USA decided to be their pets by not selling but donating gears ?
not to mentioned about many EC countries...or without mentioning happy endings of emirates or sudden UN warnings ?
JVP love to hand sake with Indians and MR wants a bowl free companionship with all foreigners.!!

In early 1998, Clarke was to be made a knight, with Prince Charles visiting Sri Lanka in order to make the investiture. Just before the ceremony, a British tabloid, The Sunday Mirror, claimed in a sensationalist story that Clarke was a paedophile

This is what appeared in British papers.

Clarke was investigated by Sri Lankan authorities, who eventually dismissed the accusations. The Sunday Mirror later printed a retraction and Clarke was made a Knight Bachelor on May 26, 2000, in a ceremony in Colombo. A formal investigation undertaken by Sri Lankan police cleared Clarke in April 1998.

So there was also investigation by SL Police. But as we know how good SL Police are at investigations it is still an open question in my mind.
