Also, he proved Sri Lanka is a nice location to live for any advance person, not to Sri Lankans those who already know that, but to many other people around the world with little or no knowledge of our country.
This is one good aspect of Sinhalese. (I havn't observed Tamils in Sri Lanka)
Sinhalese make friends and mix with westerners very well.
Many diplomats who live in Colombo does not give negative comments about Sinhalese due to this reason.
In Australia I find Sinhalese get friendly with white people easily than Tamils.
This is my observation anyway.

Yes mate, that's what I meant. Most people just knew of us as 'that bomb country' until recently. |

i would not say Sinhalese are more friendly or less friendly than Tamils. They may have different ways of socialising
people like yourself never been to Northeast and met people there, you just assume too much

I have also heard that he was a homosexual pedophile who settled in SL for his lust. Is there any truth to it? |

I would rather say it as 'Sri Lankas'.
We know, Sinhalese when not looking for cheap profits, are acting very friendly for outsiders. some of those qualities came from Buddhist culture I guess.
But, its not a very strong fact to isolate only Sinhalese.
Tamils are also doing well with outsiders.
Here around me, some Sinhalese are mixing with other cultures, but some are grouped into Sinhalese, in fact Sri Lankans clusters.

I am not saying that Sinhalese are more friendly than Tamils. I have Tamils friends.
But for some reason I find Sinhalese get on with white people better than Tamils.

I think, people those who need info on this, must check with police records in SL. No newspaper is talknig on this. |
