Is the story is TRUE..yes we should appreciate but
Defence.lk special correspondent reporting from Jaffna

There you go..it will sound very similar to Tamilnet saying LTTE cadres helped a Sinhala Pregnant woman..and the Sinhala LNP members appreciating LTTE..sounds funny right..

People are starting slowly but surely to protest against the Gosl
With the deadline to meet the demands put forward by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation employees, to expire at midnight tomorrow (18), employees warned that they will resort to strike action as planned on Wednesday if the demands are not met.

Initial features of the democratic system is,
you have multi-party system,
you have elections in regular basis, and
you can protest unfair events (consequences are can be bitter, but you still can).

As I know, Sri Lanka has these qualities. But, when the elected government is not doing the correct thing, people always change it at the election.

People in north are waiting to have this, I hope.
LTTE can be the best option they have, and other parties will lost the election, if there is any.

The source is questionable but the act itself does not surprise me. Looking at things racially we might hate each other: I don't think a Tamil will walk away seeing a Sinhalese injured or in some need that only he could help and I don't expect a Sinhalese to do anything different either.

EELAMAYA,

Do you have any idea what languages will be given the official status in that imaginary Tamil Eelam. Not that it matters, but it is good to be consistent even when you are dreaming, especially given the anticipated influx of Sinhalas. It will definitely be in the interest of people like Ice Manjula who is likely to seek extradition to Tamil Eelam to spend rest of his possible jail term..heh..heh..:)

MR without stopping the Maids should clean his own Kitchen..These high paid guys in SL HC's is a waste of Tax payers money
(Lanka-e-News, 2008 March 17, 4.20PM) There are 240 female housemaids stranded at the Embassy. In addition there are 19 males who have stayed at the Embassy for about two months due to problems at the work places. These Sri Lankan men have come to Kuwait paying Rs 120,000/- for various agents in Sri Lanka. Most of them have sold their properties to collect funds. On arrival they were not paid the agreed salary and not provided with the facilities as per labour contracts.

As a result they ran-away from the employers and came to the Embassy to get their problems solved. However, for the last two months nothing has been done to resolve the issues. Yesterday (16), they have been able to present their problems to the Minister amidst much protest from the Ambassador and Mr.Basheer of the Labour Section of the Embassy.

The Minister has ordered the officers to solve their problems and get their passports from the employers as soon as possible for them to return to Sri Lanka. In reply, Mr. Basheer has told the Minister that their passports are not required to deport them. The Minister got angry and said if the officers cannot even get a passport of a Sri Lankan from their employer what the use of keeping them paying high salaries.

Today, afternoon suddenly the Ambassador has ordered the security staff of the Embassy to chase all the run-away males out of the Embassy premises. This is done as they complained the Minister against his trusted aide Mr. Basheer.

The picture shows that they were out side the Embassy in the cold evening without any help. This is the way -65533 top class management consultant-65533 solve the problems of Sri Lankas.

DVL,
yes, I think this is natural and correct.
I don't think a Tamil will walk away seeing a Sinhalese injured or in some need that only he could help and I don't expect a Sinhalese to do anything different either.

In fact, SAL has a bigger responsibility to find blood for that lady, since Jaffna is under SLA control. The case is, no person from the public came to give blood, and finally they found one solder.
Anyway, its just a good work and you CANT give it to show harmony in SLA-Jaffna people is good.

What has this done to the country.
UNP in power has concentrated on economy and trade and the leftists shout that the capitalist's are robbing them and all fools get together and elect SLFP then they ignore whatever UNP did and concentrate on agriculture then people again complain that they don't have goods even if they have the money and go up and down. SL was walking between two lines for 50 years and now you elected a government that has screwed the economy, trade and agriculture. If this is what democracy is: do you really want it?
