What kind of leader he is..?
Its natural to have many weaknesses. One by one will disappear. At least, on and after election, no major incident reported from the area. LTTE is not active in the area. Karuna people now has to move with political tune.
We have to grow faith on the matter.
Give some time to adjust.
Ranil, help GOSL conduct elections. It will give you more public sympathy than acting like a fool.
On one hand Ranil is calling for general election.
the other hand he does not want election in east.
What is the logic here?
Ranil is acting purely on the instructions of so called IC (consists of just few western countries..), in order to R2P implement on SL. This is terrible.
India and MR/govt are planning something here. That's why JVP also up in arms again against India.
I believe Indian ambassador is going to have a chat with Ranil soon.
By the way, Ranil does not enjoy popular support.
Now his Vi-Jathika sabawa is looking for divine support.
UNP to stage adhishtana Poojas for public
The United National Party is to stage Adhishtana Poojas at religious places, starting on March, to beseech divine intervention against rampant corruption and irregularities in the government and the skyrocketing commodity prices.
Sixty such avowals will take place as the first step, which will be followed by 90 more such events beginning on March 30th, UNP s National Organizer S.B. Dissanayake said.
The party will also carry out a leaflet distribution campaign with house to house visits to raise public awareness on problems facing the country, he said.

What a bloody idiot.
Can you raise people's employability by simply banning them from taking up jobs as housemaids? Does MR and his goons honestly believe that when the potential house-maids are barred from jobs in the Middle East, they are now going to be called upon to take up foreign jobs as nurses or administrators? Have they been properly trained for such occupations?
See, this is what is bloody wrong with SL, it's always, always, always the cart before bull.
Does MR honestly believe the employment agents will now say 'Oh, can't take up jobs as house-maids? Then come join us as nurses, we have thousands of foreign vacancies waiting to be filled'??
On the other hand, no one is doing those poor housemaids a favour by banning their livelihood. These low-skilled workers are of course not enjoying being employed as servants in a far-away country and they would only take up such low-paid jobs out of pure desperation. So what are they supposed to do when the government bans their sole way out of poverty?

They will have land and police powers. More powers will be vested to raise foreign funds. We will fight against them.
They want the omelet without braking eggs.
Now time to say bye JVP, if you behave like this.
We were having a good sympathy for them for years since uni. They are going to loose that soon in this way.
Give what Tamils deserve, just less than a separate country. We cant control another population by force. Let them to admin them and keep the integrity of the country through national security, communication, foreign policy, money and central banking, etc.
This will boost the inter-region development competition too. |

These maids are working for $100-150/month. Some get maximum $150. Govt earlier had discussion with middle eastern countries to raise this for minimum $200/month. I guess that plan did not work.

Randu097,
Exactly mate, the government may have failed to negotiate a higher salary for foreign workers, simply because a salary is determined by the demand (for foreign housemaids) and our supply. Nothing can escape basic economic theories. Govt may be thinking (as usual) if they appear powerful enough and show a bit of force, the poor little employers of Saudi Arabia will give in. Unfortunately it does not work like that, but the government does not seem to be able to grasp this.
We are not going anywhere by banning low-skilled foreign employment. What's the alternative the govt is offering to these poor sods? Take up the oldest profession? |
