This elections are not going to change anything in the East. This is a futile exercise by the Rajapakse govt to give a veneer of normality to the East while allowing the armed TMVP and other armed gangs to control the population.
Armed political parties? That is a joke and will be seen by most around the world as such. Mahinda's puppet Pillayan will rule the East with an iron fist but the LTTE isn't going to sit back and give him an easy ride. That's for sure. |

Not that they are unaware of it.. Over time, they have got progressively desensitized to the horror of human suffering. Learned to blame the tamil's for all their misfortune.. helped by the punnakku fed to them by the Maniacs running the Show (in the north and in the south).
When you don't know any singhales personally, it is easier to paint them all as evil and vice versa.. That's what's been done over there in SL for the past little while... So there is very little to no hope for reconciliation. It is easier to rule a divided people..(not to mention.. profit from it)

I don't think this is right. I don't think VP knew until after the fact. Late Victor or Mannar was reprimanded for this. I could be wrong but thats what I heard at that time.

If I remember correctlt, it was late Pulendran got into that act, but not sure without the knowledge of VP..! will get it confirmed..!
