these 'official' elections in the NE never inform us about anything, only secret polls inform what the people really want
in before 2006 violence, Kumar Rupasinghe and his group did a secret survey on people living in GOSL-held areas in NE about whether they wanted to live under ISGA, and over 85% of the Tamil people wanted to live in ISGA (which means be ruled by LTTE)

I am on the west coast it bugs me every time disproportion amounts are going to east and Quebec from tax dollars. Do you think if the fighting stops and GOSL invests in East people of the south wont rise against the govt.
Interesting times ahead. |

but the gov may only invest in Sinhala (and Muslim) enclaves, and this will only encourage migration from the South.

It's as if a beggar building a house for another. It ain't gonna sustain..! All we see is some form of development in the east (Tamil Areas), that is based on militaristic and donor point of view..! This trend is not going to last for very long..! |

I don't know. If the killing stopped and COL goes down a few notches, the guys from the south will not care. GoSL will have to watch out for JVP and the JHU and their offspring.
What about the north then? |
