well experienced guy who handled JR,R.Prem,CBK,now MR.Also,Bull weeradonga,Kobbekadu,Cyril Ranatunge,Wimalerat,& other navy,SLAF commanders.Thats the time sinhala weerayas will put Funseka in the same band waggon with Gen Punnakupitiya.One mans death(Ponseka)WOULD have saved so many SLA troopers & civilian lives. |

Commander Sarath Fonseka and Gotabaya Rajapaksha are absolutely right for punishing corrupt commanders. Mr.Pannipitiya was a commander of a decisive battle but that does not exempt him from being charged for misusing military assets.
We should take this as an example of Sarath Fonseka's integrity. He expect high level of integrity from his fellow commanders, but they are not able to forgo their past corrupt life styles.

This thing would have happened in a different system of values.
Now values are being changed, it was treated under the new value system.
Nothing to talk.
SLA always deserves the best amidst here and there short comings.
SLA Commander most probably took the right decision which needed to protect honesty and integrity of the forces.
On the other hand, Supreme Court also did the right thing.

LTTE do not go after ex- Sri Lankan military commanders as it does not serve any purpose. The General in question is not commanding any battles at this stage and he is not a VIP for LTTE to get rid of. Furthermore he took orders from Colombo to do what was needed to defeat LTTE in the East than he took his own skills to win the battle like Gen Patton in WWII.
He is simply trying to keep his perks like CBK.
Is there any purpose for LTTE to go after CBK now? I forward this question to LNP members. |

Why doesn't Gotabaya go after MIG deal where the real big-time crooks are involved?
Don't forget, against Pannipitiya the action is based on an ANONYMOUS petition.
It must also be noted that much against the recommendation of the Parliamentary Select Committee to suspend the Commissioner General of Inland Revenue to facilitate the further probing of the VAT scandal, he is still in command. Something is really ROTTEN in the Affairs of the State. Anyone trying to justify the blatant wrong doing is NOT being Objective at all. With such attitude of the public, we certainly deserve the Rotten govts we have got all along.
I don't want to say God Save Sri Lanka because even He won't be able to save Sri Lanka with the type of citizens Sri Lanka has. |

The SLA in Pa'ndivirichchaan captured an LTTE point. The Tigers within a few minutes launched a counter-attack and recaptured their point. The clash intensified as the SLA struggled to recover 3 of their dead soldiers, according to the Tigers.
