If the team had hit the low ebb, they would have come home
and change their strategy and come up with a new plan for the next assignment. Now they got a consolation win nothing is going to change.

Excellent team work.
First Time Sri Lanka made over 200 runs against Australia in this series.
Bowlers fought back to penetrate Aussie Middle Order.
Aussie openers, specially Gil was full in command hammering 300 runs in this series, with few centuries.
A win mostly needed to take them home.

Aani
1. They missed the finals by only one match (Had they beaten India in one more match...).
2. They confined Australia to less than low 200s in all matches and dismissed them within 50 overs twice.
3. They won the last match without Vaas.

All in all although the batsmen diasppointed, the team did not fare as badly as we all made out:))

Excellent observation..Not all that bad at it sounds..
We should get to better things from here.

Well Done Sri lanka!!

It's once the bowlers who did a magnificient job to seal this consolation win for Sri Lanka.

Mahela did very well to rotate the bowlers, with shorten spells and bringing on Jayasuriya for the penultimate over was a very good gamble as Lee was playing the seamers really well by stealing the ones and twos.

Well done Mahela and Sri Lanka.....a good win under the belt to go back home and head to the Caribbean a confident team!

Yesterday was a Poya day in Australia. The Aussie cricketers were only too happy to oblige with a perahera to mark the occasion :o)
