TULF leaders says peace talks with LTTE no longer necessary
United Nations Security Council should help Sri Lanka government to defeat LTTE from their strongholds, a senior Tamil politician said.
Tamil United Liberated Front (TULF) leader, V Anadasangaree, told BBC Sandeshaya that the government should take control of Mulativu and Kilinochchi from the Tamil Tigers.
The authorities should make sure to 'minimise' civilian casualties and seek UN help in capturing the rebel strongholds, he added.
The TULF leader made the remarks as he protested killing of civilians allegedly by the LTTE as well as government security forces.
Mr. Anandasangaree accused the LTTE of killing most of the civilians in recent weeks.
The security forces are also responsible of some of the killings, he told BBC's Elmo Fernando.
The TULF leader who refused to accept LTTE as the 'sole representative of the Tamil people' said, in his view, there is no point of having further peace talks with the LTTE. |

That is very sad.........no I didnt hear, looks like I am sooo out of touch these days:(:(:(:(:(:((
There is this funny true story....I went in to a class room he was teaching and was sitting in front of the blackboard!!
I just poked my head in started a chat and guys were looking at me in a strange way, only then I noticed him and apologized saying I didn't notice him.....I was telling the truth, but the whole class broke in to a big laugh....he hit me with a box of choke and chased me down the corridor!! |
