Aussie coach wants Mahela to mind his own business

Australian coach Tim Nielsen told the touring Indians and Sri Lankans here Monday to worry about their own form instead of concerning themselves with the home side`s performances.
Nielsen was responding to claims from both that the Australians were struggling, despite being the clear leader on the tri-series ladder.

Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene once again said here Monday that he believed cracks were appearing in Australia`s game, while Indian opener Virender Sehwag claimed twice in recent weeks the home side was running scared of his team.

At the moment I`m quite interested to hear how much the opposition are talking about us, to be honest, Nielsen said.

I hear Jayawardene say the other day we`re falling off the perch... and India are commenting on the fact Brett Lee`s not playing -- I quite like that they`re concerned about us and not worrying about themselves.

We`ve got enough issues going on with our own game that I`m not really too worried with how they`re going.

While Nielsen admitted that his batsmen were not on top form, he said the bowling in the series from all three teams had been top-notch.

You`ve got four or five guys in this series bowling 140-145 kilometres (87-90 miles) per hour plus, the new ball`s swinging away, the old ball`s reversing in -- it`s not an easy life for a batsman, Nielsen said.

Our challenge is to make sure we identify that, come to terms with what they`re delivering to us, and find ways of coping. It`s certainly not panic stations.

Meanwhile Jayawardene called on his batsmen to show more patience and take advantage of what he said was an inconsistent Australia in the tri-series.

The Sri Lankans face India here today with Jayawardene admitting the two touring sides were already fighting for the right to play hosts Australia in the finals.

Now it`s become like a two-horse race to get into the finals, Jayawardene said.

We`ve been inconsistent with the bat, the bowlers have lifted the mark, but we haven`t batted well at all.

Jayawardene said his team`s batsmen needed to display more patience. One needs to spend more time at the wicket and wait for an opportunity. It`s not easy to score runs quickly but rather you need to work your way in the innings.

We need to keep wickets in hand and bat well and not to have too many negative thoughts going.

Yes Mahela is wright cracks are appearing unfortunately so far Srl Lankans are keep falling in to the cracks. One thing is very consistence is Mahels talk. Stick with the old adage what count is the result not how you spin the bad performance. Let Aussise worry about there game.

It is very simple:
Aussies used to win cause they were good.
Aussies still win cause others are weak.

I this Neilson is correct. You look after your own team and concentrate on winning. Do not worry about Aussies. They will look after themselves.

Nielsen has a point........ all should mind their own business...

but before that.... Aussies should mind their own business... they are the first ever to comment over others... when someone comment on them, they go nuts....

so, mitta Nielsen... tell your players to mind their own business first... then Apata Bana Kiyanne enawa...

Damed...

where are Zaha and Bonggs today... might be busy with watching the match...

Sanga & Mahela did well and Malinga delevering well today.... few early wickets will get us the match..... hope all our bowlers can restrict Indian batsmen below 170-180..... and get a great win....

Ramz,
Will have a late analysis from Zaha and Bon,

Lankans can make it if Bowlers apply there consistency in line and length, also the track can bring spinners a late support../ Murali..,

All Rounders../ Amarasinghe, Kapu or Maharoof have to work out a break through.

19 overs, 70/3... I think we have a kind of little pressure on Indians now... if we get Yovraj & Dhoni early, we can ensure the match....

hope our bowlers deliver well and bring us home

Ramz/Damed,

Mahela is always a media favourite, this is driving him to divulge unnecessary comments at times. In fact, on this tour he said that, we have to copy India and now he comments on the Aussies.

I do not disagree at Tim's outburst, in fact he is right to react that way. I wonder how Ponting is keeping quiet possibly he wants to stay free after that Harbhajan incident.

India require 102 off 120 balls, it is evenly poised at this stage a breakthrough can swing very much in Sri Lanka's favour.

Once again it was Sangakkara to the rescue, let Sri Lanka win and he get that well deserved Man of the Match award!
