What does this picture have to do with this news report?
BTW, in China it is a long lasting practice that permits are issued for pheasants to enter big cities. The objective is quite different though, to prevent population inflation.
Those who might not know it, it has been there since the time we have known, Tamils who are not the residents of Colombo have to get police clearance regularly.

This is where you get it wrong. You are using most gruesome examples from the western culture to present your case thinking that it will be effective in bringing the so called justice. Two mistakes. One is seeking justice from those who have committed worst crimes against humanity. The second is offending the those by bringing up the dirty past of their own. It ain't going to work brothers.

Maradana and Modera police teams are more famous for their indecent proposals.
two are well known stations where many cops would like to work or desperately transfer to. Dept. often help officers from poor (collection)stations to be transferred to these two. (others one was Negambo and Ja-Ela) Bribery being the top income, they also proudly support underworld and illicit liquor trade.
Many informants who have very bad track records still worry about these stations. It is their duty to submit 'jobs' on a regular basis so that cops PNB (Police Note book) filled with activities. If no activities, sadly those informants may need a visit to the prison with appropriate 'supports'.
How do i know ?.
(many will say i was former informant ??!!) :)

UNTRUE...U need a permit only if your working in Big Cities.
Not to Visit!
There are specific reasons for it..Let me give you one example..company Insurance!! The employer has to pay more!!
Pls do not mix it up with what is in this thread..(if it is true) this is absolute discrimination.. |

This is a good movement......... peaceful Tamils living in colombo should cooperate with the authoriteis to imply it... it is about the safety of public....
why visa concept!!! I don't like it..... it indicates automatically that NOrthern & Eastern Tamils are not sri lankans and they require visa to stay in south.....
instead.... they can maintain a detailed record book on everyone living in south whose origin refers to North or East....
