In this forum I am of a higher position than you through the substance of my work the quantity of my work and through natural 'time'. If you have faith in me and appreciate my work as that of an elder - then you will benefit from the essence of my work and therefore do not need to do the work yourself. That is the value of hierarchical structure and system.
If on the other hand you need to take up Equal position with me - then you need to stick to areas that are not defined through administrative rules. There - we do not have positions. We are just common. No status and therefore no benefits due to status.
When you bring gender based discrimination - you are acting in breach of the rules of this forum - which is committed to Equal Opportunity principles and values. Hence you are out of this game if you continue to discriminate and take credit on the basis of gender.

Well to be sincere its not the answer i was waiting from you. Thanks, you give me hope. And i thank you to answer the asked questions unlike some persons who always escape disturbing questions, i really appreciate your effort to build a discussion.
I'm not a geneticist and so i cant tell or guess the gene distribution among the Sri Lankan communities. But what I'm sure is that Sri Lanka is an island of thousand years history and that migrants were numerous, and that there is no 'Orgininal' Sri Lankans.
I believe Sinhalas and Sri Lankan Tamils are descendent of a common population, and so we are very close, if not the closest DNA brothers. But , naturally, migrations made our DNA pool become larger.
The Mahavamsa should be treated as a mythological narration but NOT as an unquestionable true account of our genealogy and historiography.

I don't believe this BS division between Aryan/Dravidian.
I rather believe we belong to a larger race : The Draviaryan race ! Look we are brown, not white or black !
Aryan/Dravidian only come to day with European colonialists. You see any coincidence ? Politic of divide to conquer !
Come one guys, come to the reality, AIT is a myth and has been disapproved by many INDIAN (as well European) scholars.
Sri Lanka should have been thousand times better if it was part of the Indian Union, again our white Masters did everything to bring more mess ! They excelled the art to divide !
They even rewritten our history twisting facts and bringing funny theories like AIT.

If you seek to understand and award credits and debits on merit basis - you need to read more than 50 percent of my work in this forum over at least half the time.
The shortcut is to use what you and I have in common and value me as your community elder. Since you are not able to do this - you give up and become indifferent.

I am not guessing the genetic composition of Sri Lankans but those are scientific studies. The bottom line is it is absolutely ridiculous for Tamils and Singhalese to debate whether it is Tamils or Singhalese who own this country or what part of the country. This country belongs to every body. It was the political egoism of both Singhala and Tamil politicians who divided the community in terms of nationality . What we need to do is forget about it and allow every body to have equal opportunity and live with dignity and peacefully. Vast majority of people in Sri Lanka will join hands together across the barriers of ethnicity to fight against corruption and injustice of the country in this 21st century contrary to two decades ago if there is no war in the country. |
