President confident Oil will gush from Mannar

He also knows that the blood of sinhala soldiers too will unnecessarily gush out in the North because of his foolishness and political misadventure.

It will be finally 'bloody oil' by Mahinda Maama!

In my opinion, we are better off without the ilk of 'magnum' .. in SL.

Sena Malli,

I thought your posting shows the US Flag!

May be by mistake you have typed they instead of we!!!

SenaM,

understand magnum357 has also left Sri Lanka..Or is planning to leave...

Do not shoot-off without getting your facts correct.

I am well and truly doing my bit for Sri Lanka WHILE LIVING IN SL against all odds and the looming reality of my getting killed in some bomb explosion somewhere as bombs are going off anywhere and everywhere through out the country now.

Your slip is showing SenaM with the US flag on your posting!

Are you familiar to the sinhala proverb 'puhul hora karen danei'?

As you are living in a glass house do not throw stones at others!

It is hypocrits like YOU who have well and truly abandoned SL because YOU HAVE SEEN NO HOPE IN SRI LANKA and domiciled yourselves in countries such as the US and then try to say everything in SL is rosy and cosy!

I call that 'pitiful and pathetic'!

Magnum,
I have not said there are NO corrupt politicians in India. What I said was 'there would not be ANY politician in India as corrupt as those found in Sri Lanka'.

Ever heard of an Indian Politician called Lalu Prasad Yadev? do a google and see, you might learn a thing or two about corrupted politicians in India! :)

Are you refering to these? The following is an excerpt from wikepedia.

'When Yadav took over, the Indian Railways was a loss-making organization. The Rakesh Mohan Committee (headed by Rakesh Mohan, secretary, department of economic affairs) had termed it a 'white elephant' and predicted it would hit Rs 61,000 crore (US$15.4 billion) in bankruptcy by 2015.

Defying all these predictions, the Railways booked a surplus of Rs 110 billion (U$2.47 billion).

Lalu Prasad Yadav is now credited with engineering the financial turnaround of Indian Railways, that was on the verge of bankruptcy before his appointment to the office. He left passenger fares untouched and found several other profitable sources of revenue for the Railways. He also improved on his first year's performance by stating a profit of 14,000 crores with decreased freight and unchanged passenger fares in 2006. Then, in the 2007 budget, he increased the profit level to 20,000 crores with the introduction of cushion seats in all unreserved compartments.'

ThinKing,

Lalu Prasad Yadev may have been corrupt but he has also been punished for the corruption, specially the Fodder Scam, including serving time in jail 5 times. Name ONE Sri Lankan politician who has languished in jail even ONCE for corruption?

Lalu Prasad Yadav also has done some very good work. Gamini Dissanayaka was also thought to have made the Mahaweli flow through Finco, but he also did some work for the benefit of the country.

ThinKing

This is what the BBC has to say

'And recently, Mr Yadav has found his way into the textbooks - a prestigious Indian management institute introduced a case study on his work in the ministry for its business students.

One of India's most colourful politicians, Mr Yadav is known for his quirky style and mass appeal.

And his acquittal by a special court in a case of corruption against him in December 2006 will only strengthen his position further'

ThinKing,

What has our main politician who was accused of syphoning off millions of dollars received as aid for tsunami done for the country? Has at least an inquiry been held?

Do you think any of our present Sri Lankan politicians corrupt or otherwise would be considered as role-models for university students to use as examples in the disciplines of administration?

ThinKing, is this the only 'Corrupt' politician you can think of in India who acording to you is no match for the magnitude of corruption resorted to by our own politicians, and would 'teach me a thing or two of corrupt Indian Politicians'?

ThinKing, Start THINKING!

Why pursue the 'unknown' and the 'obscure' ?

We have here, 'magnum' casting aspersions against leading politicians and their associates in SL .. indications of corruption, but no 'proof' ..

That kind of allegation was there against Rajiv Gandhi too .. those allegations have still not been 'cleared'. Magnum may be wearing 'blinkers' .. even so, he must have heard of the Bofors 'deal' (and Italian inter-mediaries), Submarines from HDW/Germany .. and some others.

Magnum,
I have no arument over SL politicians get away with corruption while Indian counterparts serve jail term. But that has nothing to do with politicians thats 'cos of the strong judicial and civil service!
Indian politicians are also corrupted just like SL politicians as you yourself proved in Lalu Prasad's case!

If you were THINKING when you made that comment about Indian politicos, you wouldnt have had to ask me to do all the THINKING! *wink*

I know the 'stuff' you are made of ..

(When you lose the 'argument', the attack becomes 'personal' .. typical of the 'wise-guy', given to pretense and too ready to share his 'wisdom' with others).
