Govt urges utmost vigilance to thwart terrorists

The LTTE having suffered defeat after defeat in the face of the relentless advance of the Security Forces and facing imminent annihilation have resorted to targeting unarmed, helpless and innocent civilians, the Government said yesterday in a statement.
`The LTTE, thereby, has proved once again that they are terrorists and therefore to identify them in any other terms would not only be erroneous but ethically reprehensible,` the statement said.
The statement: `The Government, while condemning in the strongest possible terms these cowardly attacks over the past few days, emphasises the fact that the people, Government and the nation cannot and will not be intimidated by terrorism.
The Government is of the view that nothing short of the total defeat of the terrorists can put a stop to such attacks and expresses confidence that the commitment of the heroic Armed Forces will achieve this end soon.
In the meantime, the Government reiterates that each and every citizen has a responsibility to support these efforts by exercising utmost vigilance regarding their surroundings and all suspicious persons.
The Government and the people were largely undeterred by the numerous threats to disrupt the celebrations associated with the 60th anniversary of Independence. It must be understood that the aim of the LTTE is to disrupt normal life and this is exactly what should be avoided.
The 60th anniversary of Independence was celebrated with the pride and pomp appropriate for such a momentous occasion and this itself is a victory for the people`s democratic spirit and their will to be free from all shackles, including fear of terrorist attacks.
The Government also appeals to the public not to be misled by mischief-makers who could be attempting to exploit the situation for petty political gain.
Finally the Government calls on all peoples to put aside petty political differences and unite behind its efforts to bring the conflict to an end by comprehensively defeating the LTTE and implementing a pragmatic political solution within the constitutional framework which is acceptable to all communities.
The Government also extends its condolences to the victims of the terrorist attacks over the past few days and wishes speedy recovery to those who were injured.`

Don't worry , these sort of cowardly attacks will further tarnish the image of the Tamils all over the world. Let the world see the true picture of them. Let the world know that they are black and white. Let the barbarian leader show and prove the world Terrorist = Sri Lankan Tamils , Sri Lankan Tamil = Terrorist. He has done that to the level best.
Let him kill more innocent people, we should show these things publish these things and let the world know that Tamils are barbarians and toothless people in the world. My idea is we should give more and more publicity to these cowardly act because we can show the real facts. See what they do.When they don't have things to fold back they kill their own people and send letter to UN like in Mannar, let them do that.

Well, CID and other intelligent service members are following journalists (now SLRC staffers) thesedays. Or in other words those are obeying to ''heads''' Orders.
So more and more terrorists will penetrate to Colombo and South.

MARTIN,
I feel quite privileged to have your company in this forum. The level of rational thinking you have shown is unprecedented. Thanks to your *super brain* we all now know how that many terrorists have managed to inflitrate into Colombo and its suburbs. You deserve a position in UNP executive committee.

When you came to power you promised to punnaku eaters you will bring GAWRAWANEEYA SAAMAYAK. And you promised LTTE something else and prevent normal Tamils from voting. JHU and JVP went around fooling masses telling that if Ranil comes to power there will be blood bath.
Now what has happened while scolding UNP - hang on to the same solution UNP tried to bring. While in opposition LTTE was your saviors. Every time leaders got killed by LTTE with d help of JVP you lit fire crackers and ate 'kiri bath'
Still blame UNP & Ranil. Shame on you and followers |

Of course. I like that position. lolzzz. If you type GONAs can work as VOLUNTEER workers in JVP executive committee I feel that I would be able to work in UNP executive committee. But I'll charge. :((
Have a nice time in AUSTRALIA. And while supporting JVP as well as MEGA the world biggest CABINET better to try for AUSTRALIAN PR too.

MARTIN,
Mucha-Linda GONA,
That makes clear why you were BANNED from this forum earlier. Did you call someone else a GONA as well. Mister, as stipulated in guidelines, if you wish to contribute to this forum, you need to behave decently. But, don't worry, I won't complain Mr Brown that you have insulted other members using bad language. However, it may not be too late to learn lesson from this incident. As that good proverb goes, when you loose, make sure not to loose theleson. It is better late than never.
God bless you!!

MUCHALINDA FRIEND,
OK. SORRY IF YOU GOT ANGRY. FROM NEXT TIME I WILL NOT USE THAT FOR YOU.
As I said try to get Aus PR. Cos the country is going to DOGS. RATA BALLATA. And even you GOSL Supporters do not like to live in Sri Lanka today at least till war ends. But you people (Born JVP Idiots) tell others to have one meal per day till war ends. Right??
Tell me why can't come to SL at least war ends???You can apply for holidays. Why not come back to SL and live there. After war ends you can re-start your studies there in Aus.

All schools in NCP are closed indefinitely due to fear of terrorist attacks.
Schools in Gampaha were also closed today after a scare of a terrorist attack.
The Gampaha hospital had received a phone call requesting 300 beds be kept ready for casualties.
How much longer are the people expected to put up with all this? Do any of our leaders PA,UNP,JVP,JHU etc etc have ANY strategy to pull the country once and for all out of the mess that it is in?
