the North-East war should be over in about four to five months time, authoritative military sources said.

How many innocent lives will be lost in the South in places like Buttala and Dambulla during the next four to five months?

Do the military sources have any plan or idea for providing security to the innocent Bandas and Punchi Singhos? Even if they do have any plan or idea, how effective will that be in preventing death and destruction in the South?

The fear of bombs, soaring cost of living and unpredictable road closures and traffic hold-ups makes Colombo roads and shops less crowded with shop owners complaining of sharp drop in turn over. Wonder how Colombo will look in four or five months time assuming the military source's expectation is spot on.

Well, the advocates of war think it is only the LTTE and the people of the North and East who will pay the price for the continuing war. They seem to be totally oblivious to the high price the innocent, mainly the Sinhalese, are paying and will pay.

Will there be anything to cheer about in the end? Think about it.

I am sure, you did not give up the opportunity to profit from that.

Yes. I did NOT miss the opportunity to profit from that by learning the futility of war while people with your mind-set have MISSED that opportunity. Like sadists, the war-mongers who are in safe distances away from the scene, only want to see more killing and destruction. It is bizarre that quite of a few of these war-mongers demand war in the name of Buddhism.

Highway of death more like the highway of pussies and kids with down syndrome women and children with guns.our armed forces must not hesitate to shoot them specially the gun toting women a fine example of grannies running around with AK45's.soon 17000 will be added to the death list the media will have to revise it's numbers from 70000 to 87000 its still a long way short of 1000000 killed by the Americans in Iraq in pursuit of terrorists.

As the psychological war of words continue and the day of reckoning nears, the billion dollar question is whether the 'Final Battle' or 'Highway of Death', will be fought or the international community will prevent the 'bloodbath waiting to happen

Intense effort on the International scene clearly shows LTTE s preference for the second option. Although dictated by SLA s strength on the battlefields, any solution minimizing the number of further victims should be encouraged.

... but on terms not allowing them to re-stock for the next round as it has always been the case in the past.
