We ask our Thambi Nana armed all Southern Village boys and girls to divide and kill all the 'We Sinhalese'. We will do two or even three jobs to finance this endeavor. We will fry chicken in KFC and wash dishes to do this. We even will do some credit card fraud to fiance 'our loving proud We Tamil LTTE'.

I accept that 83 riot was something which should not happened. As a true Sinhala Buddhist, still I feel ashamed to recall that ugly incident.(I was a school boy then) but in her article she only highlighted how Tamils suffer in 83 and afterwards. In her letter she completely forgot the plight of Sinhalese & Muslims who were living in Jaffna for generations. they were plundered, butchered & forcefully evicted from Jaffna.

After I read an article titled ' Thought from a Tamil Diaspora' I felt writing this message to that lady. first of all I must introduce myself. I am a Major of Sri Lanka Army presently serving in Jaffna. I read her letter with interest, respect and with an open mind.
At the outset i must say that she only highlighted the Tamils side of the story with some enmity with all Sinhalese. But if you genuinely analyzed the problem without taking any side, you will realized that both Sinhalese & Tamils equally responsible for the pathetic state of our country today.
I accept that 83 riot was something which should not happened. As a true Sinhala Buddhist, still I feel ashamed to recall that ugly incident.(I was a school boy then) but in her article she only highlighted how Tamils suffer in 83 and afterwards. In her letter she completely forgot the plight of Sinhalese & Muslims who were living in Jaffna for generations. they were plundered, butchered & forcefully evicted from Jaffna.

In her article she blamed all Sinhala politicians for not honestly settle their problem. in this case I kindly request her to study all the peace talks initiated by every successive Governments. in all these talks, LTTE insincerely demanded one after another & simply took time to regroup. Just see the peace process initiated by Mr: Ranil Wicremasinghe. He genuinely wanted to come to a political settlement with LTTE even risking his entire political career. He went up to the extent of downsizing and debilitating the Army. I think it was the best opportunity we had to come to a negotiated settlement since the international backing was at its top at that time. But LTTE never wanted to come to a settlement and they even deceived Mr: Wicremasinghe. Same thing they did to Mr Premadasa. He did every thing LTTE wanted including the repatriation of IPKF and giving financial and military aids. But he was assassinated by LTTE. I think peace is some thing LTTE never wanted to. They do not care the suffering of poor people in North & East. how many Tamil politicians and intellectuals they killed? How many underage they conscript? my earnest request from the lady is to look at this problem with broad mind. i know living in Canada she does not get a correct picture of what is happening in the country other than the Tamil net or other bias media says. as a soldier and a true Sinhalese, what I can tell her is we soldiers or Sinhalese do not have enmity with ordinary Tamils. There are plenty of Tamils co-exist with us peacefully in south. Recently LTTE made number of killings in south aiming innocent civilians including school children. But I am happy to say that no innocent Tamils were harmed in the south. LTTE brutally exploded a passenger bus in Moneragala recently killing over 40 people including children. But Sinhalese harmed no Tamil family.
I can understand that this lady is completely misguided & have an enemity with sinhala people. my point hear is as long as we keep enmity with each other we cannot solve this problem. do not pass down this enmity to your children. Proudly give our national flag to your son. Lot of Tamil leaders also fought together with Sinhala leaders to get the freedom for our country. Do not spoil the mind of your children.

In conclusion what I have to tell her is, LTTE never want to see Tamil people to live peacefully. They never want Tamil youths to study. They will never come to a political settlement. Our war is not against Tamils. We are only fighting with LTTE. We fight to liberate innocent Tamils living under the cruel grip of LTTE. Luckily we have a president, Defence secretary and Army chief who very well know the language LTTE understand.

I can understand that this lady is completely misguided & have an enemity with sinhala people. my point hear is as long as we keep enmity with each other we cannot solve this problem. do not pass down this enmity to your children.
