Theni: In high drama, Police arrested State Congress President K V Thangkabalu and at least 300 party workers, including two Members of Parliament (MPs), for indulging in a ''Road roko' agitation demanding arrest of Viduthalai Chiruthaikal Katchi (VCK) Supremo Thirumavalavan before 1800 hrs, today for the attack on the party Headquarter-- Satyamoorthy Bhavan-- in Chennai, at Theni-Periyakulam road, here today.
Mr Thangkabalu, along with J M Haroon, (MP), Krishnamurthy,(MP), and District Congress President K S M Ramachandran took out a procession from N R Thiyagarajan Marriage Hall, where the party workers meeting was held to block the vehicular traffic, demanding the arrest of Thirumavalavan. Enroute, the enraged party workers pulled down a cut-out of Thirumavalavan and set it on fire.
There was a minor skirmish between the police and the partymen, when the former attempted to prevent the cut-out being set on fire. Later, the Congressmen sat on the road and indulged in the Road roko' agitation. Tension ran high, as Mr Thangkabalu was firm on his stand that the culprits, who attacked 'Satyamoorthy Bhavan', should be arrested before 1800 hrs, today

without knowing dozens of GOSL guys who went to see Kilinochchi town never returned.......
It seems to be the village boys are not in their sense.....now a days fully mezmerised by the political thugs in power....to attract them to fight with LTTE.......and in group decimated by LTTE in dozens almost on daily basis......LTTE plan of showing them MIRAGE (KAANAL NEER) really working now....it was in the news that GOSL is spending 40 million SLR to kill one LTTE.......but LTTE is spending not more than Rs.100,000 to kill one SLAF.....what a big difference.... |
