Shakthi,
Looks like you have not read the Dyermakers post from yesterday. I hear the word 'Impeachment' in all corners.
For one thing this Govt. didn't give arms to the Terrorist like the UNP Premadasa.
For the UNP and the Sinhala Traitors this govt: is a thorn in their sight. CJ is trying to score point at a time when the country is trying eradicate a 30 year cancer and CJ is
hindering the progress. I wonder why.

Lalith,

No. What he said? The same rubbish like others?
I hear the word 'Impeachment' in all corners.
Yes, May be in Canada. Not here.
For one thing this Govt. didn't give arms to the Terrorist like the UNP Premadasa.
Yes, gave only money, and a house for Emil Kanthan.
War is only a political game. War or not war, the government cannot rob the public in this way. If the fuel price increases according to world market prices, when it goes down the public should be benefitted by that.
Every time I pump petrol to my car, now I thank CJ for preventing the corrupted government robbing me Rs. 22 per liter.
Lalith, if you want Motta Raala to continue war, don't barge here. Send him some money from Canada. We don t meddle with tax issues in Canada, after all. Don t assist the government to rob us.

Laliths,
CJ is not asking to give petrol free or even below the cost. Today oil barrel went down to $34. So the real price of petrol could be given less than Rs100.
What CJ had done is to get the price of petrol to reasonable price.
Aligning him with LTTE terrorists is pathetic. What Mahinda should do is cut the number of ministries and their spending. Even they increased their salary in this budget. |

What right the Diaspora has to talk about tax issues in Sri Lanka?
We in Sri Lanka do not interfere with tax issues in USA, UK, Canada or Australia.
In the same manner, those who in those countries (who are NOT AFFECTED) has no right to talk about tax issues in Sri Lanka.
It is US IN SRI LANKA, NOT you the Diaspora, who were supposed to be robbed by the government by selling petrol at the high price of Rs. 142 when they could have sold it at Rs.100.
SO WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR CHIEF JUSTICE FOR PROTECTING US FROM THE ROBBING GOVERNMENT AND GIVING US PETROL FOR RS. 100.
Whether petrol is Rs. 142 or Rs. 100 that does NOT affect the Diaspora. Given their mentality, I think most of them will be happy if we were to pay more. All they want is to watch their cricket match (aka the war in North) continue. Sorry, Diaspora, if you want to watch your cricket march, YOU PAY. We are not going to pay for your tickets anymore.
IF ANY DIASPORA IS WORRIED ABOUT THE LOSS OF TAX TO THE GOVERNMENT, PLEASE SEND MONEY FROM YOUR COUNTRIES. DO NOT EXPECT US TO PAY TO THIS ROBBER GOVERNMENT.
Mind your own business. You worry about tax issues in YOUR countries, we worry tax issues in our country. You have *NO RIGHT* to talk about tax issues in Sri Lanka, in the same way we have no right to talk about tax issues in USA, Canada and Australia.
I think the message is clear.

Govt. admits paying Rs. 125 mn to LTTE front firm
The Government yesterday admitted that Rs. 125 million of public funds were given to an LTTE front organisation through the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA), formerly headed by Tiran Alles.
Chief Government Whip Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle told Parliament the government would probe the matter relating to funds being given to a company headed by an LTTE operative under the Jaya Lanka housing project headed by RADA.

As far as I know GOSL does not tax foreign remittances to relatives etc. (Correct me if I am wrong) So the only tax a Diaspora pays is on what he/she consumes when visiting here on vacation. They have to pay this tax wherever they go.
On the other hand, we pay taxes on daily basis and had to face even a 20-30% inflation, the worst in South Asia. So we naturally prefer any tax reduction. We do not want to somebody to rob our hard-earned money so that a jumbo cabinet enjoys all the luxuries they can.
Why should we pay to maintain a huge loss making Mihin Air?
Wow, the dictatorial side of Shakthi.
Of course, when somebody tries to rob me, I have to be defensive.

Shakthi,
How about If I have income in Sri Lanka and property?
So, I have to pay income tax plus property tax, Vat, Air port Tax, Etc. so you see we also pay to the coffer of Sri Lanka, working abroad.
Of course, when somebody tries to rob me, I have to be defensive.
You rich guy, consider as a war time levy and contribute to your political friends. |
