So, the number can go even higher that the SLA number of 300,000!
That is why, Military personnel from 07 countries visited Wanni.

Velupillai Prabhakaran is a master strategist and certainly understands that the war has to be taken to the enemy instead of waiting for the enemy to come to him.
Prabakaran USED to be a master strategist who now finds himself exposed in more than few areas and facing increasingly difficult catch-22 type scenarios.
1. LTTE's once deadly artillery has all but lost its potency.
2. LTTE has absolutley no capacity to defend any significant area aginst SLAF attacks
3. There is a noticeable breakdown of command and contorl and that was evident with the latest fall of the earth-bund.. It was described as total chaos in the LTTE ranks for hours before the defeat.
4. TAF can not cause significant damage and may be it is already history.

Instead of trying to hold on to lands that are in terms of ratio, disproportionately larger to the number of cadres available to help retain it, Prabhakaran seems to have opted to define a viable, strategic area and defend it with an optimum force

Yes, they captured SLA and also took the photos and sent to Tamilnet within minutes... SLA, in contrast tood at least a day to get a complete account of Kili debacle!
VP forces are 90% intact... and the fresh supplies will make the existing forces the best VP ever had!

True.
But with that choice, VP has also limited the maneuvering space for his cadres. That is why artillery option (not motar) is not viable in defending Kili at this close quarters.
He may have opted this to lengthen the struggle after realising that SLA and MR outfoxed him and that he has already lost the battle in theory.
Concentrating all his cadres in to kili surrounded by hastily constructed earth bunds in my view will be deadly for LTTE. Sooner or later, SLA and SLAF will be able to take them out like 'Shooting fish in a barrel'.

That is why SLA keeps pressure on kilali. So the guns can be occupied there until found and taken out of commission. Motar is available to both sides and can be taken out by forward air support if and when encountered.

Capturing dead SLA soldiers should not be their priority. The war can not be won and their positions defended if they are asked to retreat with the bodies of dead soldiers for photo-ops of TamilNet. That in itself shows the lunacy in the ranks.
How many concentric rows of bunds can the LTTE build ? With each bund the LTTE restricts themselves to a smaller area. Looking more and more like the fish in the barrel.

Legal action unless government come to a decision within few more hours, says Ravi Karunanayaka
(Lanka-e-News, Dec.19, 2008, 7.00 PM) The registrar of the Supreme Court verifies that the copies of the Supreme Court verdict that the price of a liter of petrol should be decreased to Rs. 100, was delivered yesterday (18) to the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. The Chairman of the CPC admitted that he received the copy of the verdict and it was duly sent to the Finance Ministry.
The cabinet is expected to meet this evening (19) to discuss the matter and it is expected to announce the government decision regarding the Supreme Court ruling.
The Supreme Court ruled that the price of a liter of petrol should be decreased to Rs. 100 since December 17. The cabinet decided on Wednesday to postpone the decision until the copy of the Supreme Court ruling was delivered. The original decision remained unchanged yesterday as well since the copy of the verdict had not been delivered.
United National Party (UNP) Colombo district MP Ravi Karunanayaka said to a press conference held this morning (19) in Colombo that the government would not be na ve to ignore the Supreme Court ruling. He further stated that legal action would be initiated to achieve the concession provided with the masses unless government came to a decision within few more hours.
