Sri Lanka Navy destroyed a medium-size LTTE logistics vessel carrying a large quantity of war like materials seventy (70) Nautical Miles North-east of Mullaithivu during the early hours today (20th December 2008). The Navy also intercepted a cluster of LTTE boats and destroyed four enemy attack craft, which were abortively attempting to support the enemy logistics vessel, in a separate confrontation off Mullaithivu.
The medium-size enemy logistics vessel had been detected by the Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) on surveillance mission in deep sea around 0130 hrs and subsequently, the Navy's patrol craft were deployed to intercept and destroy the enemy logistics vessel which was approximately 30 - 40 meters in length. In the ensuing naval fire that lasted for around 30 minutes, the enemy logistics vessel was completely destroyed. It is believed that the enemy vessel was carrying a large quantity of war like materials to the LTTE since it sank engulfed in a ball of fire under the heavy naval fire.

TNA Monkey for Batticaloa says about a number development programs funded by USAID in the East:
At the surface they may look attractive, because people of the East, through the military might of the Sri Lanka government, are now reduced to accept whatever that comes as relief. They have no means of planning for themselves based on their own perspectives or no infrastructure to convert the development to their own integrity, without becoming slaves for the hierarchy of the larger systems, operating from Colombo and Washington.
Translation: Since SLDF chased away our LTTE monkey brothers there have been a lot of development efforts started in the East. This looks bad for Monkey God Praba because the only development he did was to dig mud ditches for his gang to hide in.
Cheers!

One week ceasefire delaration by LTTE.
They way the war situation had been turned upside-down by sheer determination of fighting Tigers and the superior war strategy demonstrated by VP himself, it is possible that LTTE will declare a week or so ceasefire to let the enemy move out of Tamil Eelam!

Berty,
could affect six countries currently receiving US military training, financing, and other defense-related assistance: Afghanistan, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sri Lanka, Sudan, and Uganda.
#1
It 'COULD' affect.....
#2
US knows for sure that SLAF do not recruit child solders. But it can be a issue as the TMVP has become a provincial governing body.
#3
Obama administration WILL provide not only military assistant to Afghanistan but also financial assistants including providing them with two army brigades as soon as he takes the office. He would consider more assistance as they are needed.
#4
Do not get too exited about that report as it is a smoke n' mirror.
Have a good week-end. |
