ICRC accepts 25 bodies of Army personnel
(Lanka-e-News, Dec.18, 2008, 4.25 PM)

LTTE handed over the bodies of 25 Army personnel who were killed in clashes on December 16 at Kilinochchi and Muhamalai to the ICRC today (18), said a spokesperson of the ICRC to 'Lanka-e-News'.

Army also handed over the body of a LTTE cadre to ICRC.
Meanwhile, the Army and the LTTE released the casualty figures of the clashes on December 16.

Army says that 130 LTTE cadres were killed and 250 were injured while 25 Army personnel were killed. LTTE says that 130 Army personnel were killed and 300 were injured.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources said that 65 70 Army personnel were killed and 240 were injured whilst 75 LTTE cadres were killed and around 100 were injure

You should not let these men (politicians) to come out. Their presence in public places itself threatens the common men. I do not know why it has become a matter of prestige for them to move with 10-15 uniform security personnel carrying lethal weapons a High Court in New Delhi observed in October 2007 during a Court hearing into inconveniences caused to the public by politicians in that country. Observing they were not a national asset , the two judges who made the observation, Justice T.S. Thakur and Justice Veena Birbal also told politicians to remain in the confines of their homes and offices if they feel threatened by citizens.

The judges could well have been speaking for us Sri Lankans given the unbearable situation that

Addressing the 10th Annual Convention of the Inter Companies Trade Union held at New Town Hall in Colombo yesterday (17th) Mr. Dissanayake said our dollar reserves have dwindled. We have dollar reserves only for three weeks. The income from tea, rubber, cinnamon, garments and foreign exchange from those who are engaged in foreign employment have come down drastically. In the midst of all this President Mahinda Rajapakse, in an attitude of developing national production, has increased taxes on products such as sugar and paper. Our paper producing industry has broken down. Only file covers and papers for bills could be produced here now. The thought that taxing paper imported would help the local .......


See the pathetic condition of lanka....in curent global crisis situation.......do this war will further downgrade their economic condition.....SL is sure of becoming a failed state in a short span of time.....wish them all the best.....for collective effort by its so called pathetic roundedoff sinklamists and political thugs in power.....

It is common to understand that SL state terrorism is being applied on vanni land and hence tamils in vanni suffering......what is the necessity of pathetic roundedoff sinklaists to undergo hardships in SL........have sense to understand this fact.......just in the name of fake war how the political thugs in power are screwing you guys....even they don't spare judiciary people who want to give some relief to pathetic sinklamists but political thugs are planning to impeach chief justice just because he wants to reduce unfair fuel price....and you guys are how dumb to accept it.....find some other life....for heaven sake....
