PC House Regional Distributor for AMD in Sri Lanka

Advanced MICRO Devices (NYSE: AMD) on Tuesday announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with PC House, Sri Lanka and appointed it as the sole regional distributor for the Sri Lankan region. PC House is Sri Lanka`s leading and renowned distribution company and with a strong portfolio of complimentary product lines which offer a symbiotic environment for leading IT vendors.
The appointment of PC House is aligned with AMD`s strategy to increase its geographical presence and penetrate deeper into untapped markets. PC House is an established distributor of computers and accessories in Sri Lanka with over 40 outlets and an established distribution ecosystem. As a result of the agreement, AMD can now offer its leading edge products and computing solutions to customers in new fast emerging Sri Lankan market.

PC House will be the Tier-1 partner for AMD with the title of a regional distributor. AMD also plans to extend the hugely successful SB (System Builder) Yatra to the Sri Lankan region in order to increase confidence of selling AMD products.
The Sri Lankan PC market presents a good potential with a steady growth of around 11% annually according to IDC between now and 2011. The demand in the country is largely due to the home, public sector and the telecommunications services segment.
