Yarlan,
Sorry to intrude on your conversation. I found your short bio to be fascinating. Dunno if you saw my question before but did you ever hang about Alethea International School in your days? |

I had the chance to meet Brett Lee in the West Indies when Aus was touring there.
He is one of the nicest blokes you can find. DOn't know about ole POnty but Brett is a class act. Great charm, great smile and full of friendship. So even though i support SL, i still love to see Brett bowl and entertain. |

Kural,
You said you were 4 years old when you left Sri Lanka. What year was that? Also, the behavior of some Tamils who received free university education - which is still a privilege and a dream for many - I will withhold their passports if they try to leave the country prior to completing a minimum number of service for the country (if I had the authority to do so). That is hard earned money from the tea estates and women breaking their backs in the garment factories. If you you like Barack Obama, then you wouldn't have a problem with this idea. It is called meeting your obligations to the society whose labor paid for your attainment of knowledge. I hate to admit it. But, many Tamils in the Diaspora who are strong supporters of the LTTE had obtained their first (bachelors degree) in Sri Lanka - free of charge. They know what it costs to educate their sons and daughters in the West. Because of their lost status and anger at the possessions they lost in Sri Lanka (not true in all the cases), they don't want to remember that part in their life. Tragic, because it was the strength of their education in Sri Lanka that enabled them to be successful professionals in the West.
