I am very interested to see the report. If possible, you can ask some senior member to post it in his/her web space. Or alternatively, you can send it to LNP admin to put it.
When I tried to post an excerpt form that writing last week, the post was later removed from LNP. A while ago, I asked a friend of mine to register and set up a website. He is also very busy with things. But, the site www.peacenowinlanka.org has been registered and will be geared towards all Sri Lankans. It will be designed according to the way I want. It's intent is to make Tamils and Sinhalese think of Sri Lanka as their home, a place of shared cultural values, and a place where both can co-exist in peace and harmony. Lofty goals? That is where I bring in few surprises. Many of you, if you are old enough, have forgotten the way it used to be. The power of our memories are stronger than what an average human being has come to accept. Unfortunately, many of you would like to recall only the bad memories. Strange as it seems now, considering the extent and intensity of the war for the last two years, I strongly feel Sri Lanka is very close to achieving real peace for the first time in 25 years. Mostly because, the majority of Tamils and Sinhalese have realized the full cost of continuing with the war and are ready for a new approach. It is going to be a real challenge to try to explain to people who still believe in the war as means to settle the ethnic conflict. The big problem I have with this whole business is that this war would not have started in the first place if Sri Lanka had visionary Statemen. But, that part is history now. Now, we must move forward. The first step is to initiate steps in Sri Lanka to try to heal the open wounds (and not open new ones as we speak). The second step is to start a country-wide reconciliation process, officially sanctioned by the State.
Do you guys (and ladies) want me to spell out the whole thing? Don't you want foreign experts, foreign tours, and round-table discussions on this subject in Colomb?

Toyota,
AB, are you watching the match on TV now? I would love to hear the channel 9 commentary now.. especially one and only pathetic Bill Lawry
I'm watching the match, but with no commentary... We still do have to do some work around here! :))) But if things get interesting, then we can turn on the sound... We have speakers all around the place here, so we can only turn it up when it's really interesting... |

If you have a chance to clone a past or a current cricketer, who will that be?
there is only one person I would love to sit and watch batting all day
Sir Vivian Richards..
I remember listening to commentaries..(no TV that time) in 1976 when he scored 274 against England.
what a batsman..never wore a helmet, no one could have got to him with sledging etc..cool Customer

Yarlan,
Beautifully said. Yes spell out the whole thing and I for one will be watching your web site.
The big problem I have with this whole business is that this war would not have started in the first place if Sri Lanka had visionary Statemen.
Couldn't agree more. |
