Free education is nice, but in the end we lag far behind other higher education institutes because we lack necessary funds to make things better

No, we do have the funds..I am sure people will contribute if it is for education..We can allocate more money for Education from the Budget..The people at the top are not interested, the war is on..majority of the money is allocated there..and easy to pocket it.

Super messy,

Are you referring to VP as a 'mindless person'??

You just referred to VP as a 'mindless person', and he knows who you are... aren't you scared?? Don't you know what he does to people that don't approve of him... he calls them 'traitors' and the rest is history!

There may be a few good universities, but not enough accommodate everyone, and hence standardization in school and extremely hard school examinations. It's sad.

Its a problem with the politicians. they didnt want the rural youth from performing well so less facilities to rural areas. in the engineering fields in the world we do perform quite well. should have targetted the international opportunities from early days. from my experience, ours, who are here, are performing much better than most other countries here including the british.

On Sunday, December 7, the security forces were within 'kissing distance' of the outer defence lines of Killinochchi, announced the defence spokesman. On Monday, December 8, it became 'Troops in Killinochchi are targeting the town and they are in the vicinity of the town.' However, by December 9 it seems the security forces strategic focus had shifted from Killinochchi to Mullaitivu according to the Defence Ministry.

This contradicts what the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka said in his Sunday Observer interview on the same day he said 'after capturing Killinochchi the security forces will definitely capture Mullaithivu...'

In military parlance, this kind of shift in 24 hours takes place only in tactical rather than strategic focus. Somebody is not getting the terminology right or the army is facing major problems in turning the 'kiss' into reality in Killinochchi.

Pawan98,

What do you mean by 'we give free education' ? Who is the 'we' ?
Its not free, everyone pay taxes, isn't it ? Nothing is free !

You pay or your parents pay taxes, then govt use this money to pay the teachers etc!

Fair say. But peace is necessary, unfortunately this is how things have turned out. The man, balless according to some, who was going to bring that didn't come into power because of a marginal win by MR that was handed to him on a silver platter by the LTTE not allowing people to vote in the previous presidential election. What to do now?

AB

OH..I was thinking the match is tomorrow..great..

Perth wicket is fast and bouncy..the first hour will be difficult to bat on..Watch out for Morkel..he can bounce and bowl really fast..Steyn also can be fast..Hayden is out of form..Pontings is slow in his movements cos of his wrist injury..Symonds is still on the way back..this leaves..Hussey, Katick & Clark to bat well.

Interesting Test match..
Besy chance for SA to beat Australia in Australia..
