During Jayasikuru, only Mankulam was fallen....and that time only one brigade attacked with LTTE....
This time more than 90% of EELAM land including their leaders and soldiers have gone.
And not only one brigade attacking to LTTE...there are 9.
Hehe...see the difference....
Yes you can be happy thinking about that history temparory....

I dont think it is possible to give time frames to end the war. SLA is not fighting a conventional war any more. Casualties are expected and usual in this form of wars.
Thalai,
Machan there is a difference between Jayasikuru and the current military thrust. During Jayasikuru time, the LTTE was not under siege. Their supply lines were also not cut as much as now. I am sure there are supply lines remaining (at least few) even now. But during Jayasikuru most of the supply lines were very much in tact, which enabled the LTTE smuggle weapons.
The other difference is Karuna factor. As i have always maintained, i am no fan of Karuna and firmly believe that he is a terrorist who should be persecuted for his crimes. But give the devil its due. Karuna was the one who really ran the LTTE military machine. His defection is one reason for the LTTE's current military failures and operational set backs.
Just my two cents Thalai.

that becose of ceasefire holding for long period. so sla was in a better position to strenthen its forces compared to ltte.
but this time no ceasefire once sla is beaten back but UDI declaration.:))) |

No body on this earth can kick out SLA again.....
Velu tried to kill Sarath Fonseka and Gotabhaya Rajapakshe earlier time becasue he knows he can't face them.
Now the time has come...
Kicking out SLA again is only a dream....
Get ready to be kicked out permanently this time. |

if that is the case ltte would not have gone for confrontaion blocking the mavilaru/claymore attack on sla. ltte /vp must have calculated its strength and weaknesses including the karuna factor before facing war option. even they would have opted to support Ranil.
i firmly believe vp will turn the tide in his favour from now onwards |
