Revy, thanks mate for the info. At least now they learned some elemantary arithmetic :)
Also there is a huge quantity of injured soldiers.

Kilinochchi attack was a debacle too. About 100 dead and 250+ injured !

Look again at Smartiger's last creation. It is so true ! Mahinda mama sending these poor boys as cannon fodder..

Why you guys are wasting time in disputing the reports. Even a super idiot will understand that Sri lanka Government has imposed a censorship and even reports are threatened. If they have b...s let them aloow independant reporters to the war zone like in other parts of the world and let them report.

Killing 125 and injuring 200 but still can't cross the kissing distance.

Are they talking about 'flying kiss distance'

what a bunch of idiots who still believe defence lanka.

But considering how Bush got 'Shoed' away in a farewell kiss & every leader will think twice now abt the 'war on terror ' !

All leaders are so scared now for shoe attack. Peelamists are always peelamaists as long as you think in that way.

Heavy fighting. 100 SLA and 150 LTTE KIA.
The most decisive battle for Paranthan and Kilinochchi has now commenced. Around 5.30am today, the 57 and 58 Divisions launched a simultaneous attack on the 'L' shaped LTTE bund surrounding Paranthan and Pooneryn.

These were some of the fiercest fights in recent times. While the attack on Paranthan and Kilinochchi continued, the 53 Division made an abortive bid to advance in Kilali but lost around 30 men with 10 bodies falling into the hands of the LTTE.

Close to 100 soldiers were killed and 300 others were injured in all three operations. Many of the injuries were in the p3 category. The LTTE lost 150 cadres. Troops are now in control of the LTTE bunkerline and bund at many locations.

LTTE launched wave after wave of attacks using MPMGs and even 23mm and 30mm HMGs but the troops remained unmoved and have not let go of the bund. The 57 Division took the brunt of the LTTE counter attacks facing 11 attacks so far. Troops from SR, CLI, GW and GR fought valiantly.

The Army altogether lost 42 bodies, which were declared MIA. Some of these bodies, including those of the LTTE can be observed just ahead of the captured areas. Fighting will resume again with the first light.

According to bakamoona this is called the *bumber harvest*
according to upulj this is called the *culling process*

both are cowards hiding behind the screens and watching the show...soon they will come on to dispute the numbers or the fact or the source or all of them combined to deny that there was neither the bumber harvest nor the culling process took place!

Eelam or peelam, the bottom line is youths are being killed because of war mongers to stay in power.

We are losing young lives as well as wealth of the country. Does anybody think of economic consequences ? The leaders from both sides will vanish with money they collected or earned by commission. The ordinary citizen is going to be affected. It is a pitty that both sides are rejoicing by the death and detruction going on. Who is winning the battle is not the point. Who are going to suffer late is the big question ?

Send Pranab immediately to Sri Lanka: DMK to Centre

PTI
Tuesday, December 16th, 2008 AT 5:12 PM

Chennai: Stepping up pressure on the Centre, the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu today said External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee should be sent immediately to Colombo as promised by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, to make all efforts to arrange for a ceasefire between the Sri Lankan Army and the LTTE.

A resolution adopted at the high-level committee meeting of the party, headed by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi here, said that Mukherjee should immediately visit Sri Lanka to hold necessary talks and make all efforts , to convince Colombo for a ceasefire.

Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, Karunanidhi said Union Shipping Minister and senior DMK leader T R Baalu would meet Mukherjee tonight in Delhi to convey the view.

An all-party meeting under the leadership of Karunanidhi had met the Prime Minister on December 4 and discussed the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, where the latter had reportedly promised to depute Mukherjee to Sri Lanka.
