the labour market share of indian and sri lankan labour in the middle east is huge. Indians are the number 1 supplier and sri lanka lies around 3rd or 4th.

Around 70% of sri lankan passengers are from india travelling there via colombo. mihin operates to middle east and to india which is two very high traffic sectors. even the sri lankan gives more travel baggage allowance to indian crowd than to the sri lankans travelling from the middle east. mihin can sustain it self from these two sectors alone if handled properly. more employers would choose mihin if it offers tickets at low prices.

Why cant SRILANKAN airline have a buget airline rather than having a separate airline/company??

The airline is now in the process of evaluating tenders to seal the best option to wet lease the aircraft. Since we are hoping to obtain a wet lease, it is expected that the lessee would provide us with pilots and some crew members, a top official said.

what a waste of public money... this is not a necessity at the moment.. MR should have known better.. just thinking the development projects that could have been done with that money allocated to mihin..

I dont have any idea. may be because budget airlines operates outside International civil aviation authority guidelines since they dont have many facilities and insurances, not sure.

There was a report that 4000 LTTE Cadres came to middle east once Karuna broke up with them. they included in this?

I used to be a srilankan once upon a time. What does tourism mean? Coolies and hookers. so any which way you slice it you guys and gals are coolies and hookers.
Shame, we wanted a build a nation of intellects and entrepreneurs but you guys want to build a nation of coolies and hookers. Shame, Shame mindless inhabitants not people.
