Karuna Amman, the Rajapakse Brothers & the Inconvenient Truth:
How much credibility does Karuna have? Did he have any to start with in the first place? Whatever credibility he had, he lost it when his men continued to engage in abducting, demanding ransom and murdering other Tamils. May be, is it a case of old habits dying hard? President Rajapakse wants the Sinhala villagers in Pollonaruwa and Ampara to forget that most of the massacres of Sinhala villagers in the East took place when Col. Karuna was in charge of the LTTE operations in that sector.
Both Karuna and Pillayan are providing Rajapakse with political cover to mask the bitterness the Tamils in the East have towards this whole affair of 'liberation through destruction.' Karuna, of course, doesn't appear to have many choices. He needs the money and the security only the Rajapakse brothers can provide. Without that cover of security, he knows how short his life span could be. He knows that he needs the Rajapakse brothers more than they need him. His political relevancy to the Tamils in the East and his need for survival depend on it.

I have no issues to contribute to api wenuven appi...but yesterday in Lnakan parliament it is said hundreds of millions Api wenuven api funds are not accounted for also thousands of pounds collected in UK for appi wenuwen appi has gone missing...so I do not want to fill the pockets of crminals like JNP Weerawansa in the name of poor sinhala boys fighting in army |

What your telling is true!but now the situation has arised such that we have to do and accept the impossible!!
Tell me, who you can appoint as the CM in East!Would the tamil accept a SINHALA MAN to become the CM in EAST...I doubt! And if, let say a moderate was appointed, then by now he is sent to the 'land no return' to be with JRJ, CHELVA, PREma etc! |
