But I thought that the civilians wanted to live in a war zone, and wanted to act as a human shield for the terrorists... especially those little infants! I thought at least they wanted to stay and be human shields for the terrorists!

Seneviratne said a political solution based on 'extensive devolution of power' should be implemented for Tamils after 'curbing (LTTE) terrorism'.

That means the two major sinhala criminal political parties want to continue killing lankan tamils.....so VP has to control GOSL war crimes in a big way .....Jayawewa

Disabled soldiers in war....Jayawewa Prime minister & Mahinda for conducting the war with Disabled Soldiers

Speaking to the media in Colombo today (Dec. 04th), Mr. Samaraweera demanded that leaders responsible for this crime be brought before an international war tribunal.

Producing the photo of a soldier who has lost both eyes due to war, he said, As I said at the previous media briefing, a large number of children of this country have become disabled due to war, blindness being one of the most serious among them. The solider in this photo has lost both eyes.

Once again, I am asking the so-called patriots who propagate war whether we should sacrifice our young generation to the war. Also, leaders who persuade our youth to this crime should be produced before an international war tribunal, he said.

Also speaking at the media briefing, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake alleged there was no record of the millions of rupees collected by the government for the Api Wenuwen Api housing project for soldiers.

December 3, 2008: The LTTE has now made it clear that it would resort to guerilla warfare and terrorism if it was defeated militarily (which seems increasingly likely). This threat is supposed to persuade the government to agree to peace talks without the LTTE disarming. The government declined and insisted that the rebels had to disarm before there could be any negotiations. Previous peace talks and ceasefires failed because the LTTE refused to abide by the agreements, and the government refuses to go through that again.

The LTTE never had majority support in the Tamil community. The last time elections were held in Tamil majority areas (the north, and along the east coast), pro-LTTE parties only received about a third of the vote. Subsequently, the LTTE took control using terror and force to get the majority of Tamils to obey. This ruthless approach worked for a while, as the LTTE defeated government forces.
But the Tamils are outnumbered more than four to one in Sri Lanka, and the majority learned to deal with the terror tactics and are now tearing the LTTE fighting forces apart. There are still factions within the Tamil community that support terrorism and continued fighting for a partitioning of the island. But most Tamils have had enough, meaning that the LTTE is about to become another lost cause that a few diehards are still willing to kill and die for until the surviving LTTE zealots are killed or die of old age.

Hi,Hi,He. Pulli gono read this too!

LTTE not allowing civilians to leave Bishop

Tamil civilians who are caught up in the war are not allowed by the LTTE to leave the war zone, Bishop of Jaffna, Rev Thomas Savundranayagam said in an interview with the Indian Express newspaper.

Bishop Savundranayagam is quoted as having told the newspaper, 'The people are anxious to flee the war zone for their own survival. But they are unable to do so for two reasons. One is that the LTTE is not allowing them to go. The second reason is the fear that the government and the security forces may suspect them of being LTTE cadre or LTTE sympathizers, and detain or imprison them.'

The government has often charged that the LTTE is using Tamil civilians as a 'human shield' to protect them, since the army is reluctant to hurt the civilians. The government has also requested the civilians to flee and enter government controlled areas. Some have done so, according to government publications.

The Bishop has also charged the rebel group of forced labour of the civilians in their military constructions. He has said the massive earth bund the LTTE constructed for their defence is a result of forced labour. The Bishop said, 'The church and I are very concerned about the sufferings of the people. The people have no shelter and no security what so ever. The current torrential rains have made life unbearable. Many of the displaced persons had moved several times in the past few months.'

The Tamil Bishop also reportedly told parliamentarians of the proxy party of the LTTE, the TNA who are in India to see New Delhi government, to pressurize the Indian rulers to bring pressure on the Tamil Tigers to release the civilians

LTTE gave Tamils only graves

Prabhakaran not for peace

The success of the armed forces against the LTTE was not a victory for the Sinhalese people but a victory of the Tamil people of the North who were being held as a human shield by the LTTE, Vinayagamurthi Muralidaran (Karuna) UPFA told Parliament yesterday (4).

'The Sri Lanka Army was a very strong military force and even Prabhakaran now admitted it. Why was it that they were not able to defeat the LTTE before?' he asked. 'That was because there had been no able and strong political leadership. The former President Premadasa had supplied the LTTE with lorry loads of arms and ammunition but the LTTE used those weapons not only to kill the Sinhalese but more Tamils,' he said,

But President Mahinda Rajapaksa was a strong leader who gave the armed forces the leadership to defeat the LTTE. He welcomed those who had given up terrorism and joined the democratic mainstream. 'When he nominated me as a member of Parliament he did not honour me but it was an honour for the Tamil people,' he said.

The armed forces were engaged in liberating the Tamil people but they should take precautions to ensure that the civilians of the North were the least affected by the war. Today the LTTE was not in a position even to produce its own food. Even Prabhakaran was fed by the food supplies that the government was dispatching to the Wanni. No other government would send food supplies, medicine and fuel to a terrorist held area but President Mahinda Rajapaksa was sending the food for the civilians in the Wanni, he said.

'The TNA members could do their politics but as a person who had fought for the LTTE I would like to tell them not to defend the LTTE which did not want a peaceful solution. The LTTE leader had betrayed the Tamil people and did not make use of the opportunities he was offered by successive governments to find a solution to the problem and all he had done was to lead the young generation of Tamil people to the grave. Today all that the Tamil people got from the LTTE were 22,000 tombs and nothing else,' he said.
