Cuba is one of the most educated country. 99% literacy.

it's one of the best places for a vacation.....but like most other people living in a dictatorships people are constantly attempting to flee to the US regardless of the immense risks to their lives.....yup, cuba must be a paradise for the locals...

a real and terrible down-side to giving one man so much power and authority with no controls, accountability or checks and balances....sounds familiar??? nah...velu is not a dictator...lol!!

ICICI Bank withholds US$ 25mn loan

By Paneetha Ameresekere

ICICI Bank (ICICIB) has delayed releasing a US$ 25 million loan requested by the government after Friday s Supreme Court judgment, a top Central Bank (CB) source speaking on grounds of anonymity told The Morning Leader.

International lenders harbour fears that consequent to the SC interim injunction that prevented the state run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) from honouring its hedging contracts, that it may be a precursor to stop similar payments by the government.

The interim injunction prevented CPC from honouring its hedging contracts until CB investigations in this regard are completed.

'Otherwise the government would have had received this payment to meet its expenditure needs by last Friday,' he said.

However in the context of Friday s judgment, ICICIB s lawyers are now re-examining the agreement, the source said. They are expected to take a decision in this regard in a day or two, he said.

Hi Yarlan,

It is nice and very touching to see that, despite the terrible experiences you / your family had to witness, you remain positive and you have found the right way to move forward. A good example to be followed.

Yes, at least for the peace loving people, it is really frustrating to observe that the mentality has not changed much. Why this obsession of looking back all the time?

Like in the USA there is a serious need for change on both sides.

Despite all the negative comments from various sources, this country has a future for as long as its citizens remain positive and think in a constructive way.

Reading certain posts in this forum I sometimes get the impression that this is the official website of the lamentation wall in Jerusalem.

Bassa,

You forgot to mention that Cuba became independent by its armed struggle.. You can ask The Che and FidelGastro..

And now they have leading scientists, doctors.. Anyway, I'm not going to explain their struggle.. Because it is world famous and you must know it if you have been educated..
