Exploiting the Mumbai carnage and the mood of indignation in India, the Colombo government is calling for the collaboration of India in labeling and isolating all Tamils as terrorists, just because they demand for their rights. A social survey has revealed that 90% of the beggar population of Colombo city does not expect any benefit from state or any other organization.

The survey carried out by an independent body exposes amazing facts.

50% of the beggars are against granting houses or lands to them. 84% are against somebody providing them an employment. 90% are against social benefits and the majority of them like to remain as beggars.

79% of these beggars are physically sound. Only 21% are disabled beggars.

The majority of the beggars are Sinhalese. They account to 61% while 29% are Tamils and 19% are Muslims. 72% of the beggars are males while 28% are females. 70% are adults whilst 10% are children and 20% are aged persons.

60% are begging in the day time while 37% do it in the night. For 3%, there is no proper time.

The survey concludes that the members of this social stratum are total outsiders from the average society.

The Sri Lankan paranoia about India is historical and there is no cure for it ......
