well mahinda did not win the election. the north and east innocent tamils boycotted the election.
and LTTE cut off the hand of one of the 'innocent' tamils who defied LTTE diktat and went and voted.

I am so sorry but your first post gave the impression that Majority (not all) Tamils are LTTE supporters..
If You feel the Minority are the LTTE supporters then I am sure you would not have posted what you did..
I'm not sure where the miscommunication is coming from, but i was talking about LTTE supporters... If you think that the LTTE and tamils are the same thing, then i'm sorry for you, but i don't think that. When the LTTE attacks Sri Lanka, the LTTE supporters jump up and down and celebrate... But when Muslim extremists attacked Mumbai, then there's no celebrations... |

If one is not an LTTE supporter, he/she should be able to call the LTTE as terrorists..

ordinarily I would say ... well too bad for them if they chose not exercise their one FUNDAMENTAL right as a citizen of the country .. but in this case the real question is .. who made them boycott? And more recently, the elections in the liberated east have shown whether it was an intentional boycott or an enforced boycott!
they only beleive that the LTTE is the Sole representive of innocent tamils. they don't beleive in sinhala dominated parliment.. got it ?????
Sinhala dominated govt ... hello ... sinhala people are a majority. Fact of life .. deal with it. If sole reps .. then in a democracy the reps need to follow democratic path. Stand for elections, get elected and then represent your constituents. Taking up arms and killing innocent people isnt the democratic path last time I checked. |

If one doesn't support terrorism, he should be able to call GOSL terrorists.. Why LTTE's terrorism is wrong, and GOSL's terrorism is right ???
OK, GOSL don't blow up themselves, but the effects are the same, innocents are killed.
BTW what anthony is saying is right. In the last election in East, many people were forced by guns to vote ! IF you don't believe me, please watch non governmental reports about East !

Yes, because the LTTE are not barbaric at all! They love tamils, but they are always being framed for everything! there's a huge conspiracy out there, and it's all about making the LTTE look barbaric, backward and ruthless!
