If Eelam Tamils were interested in a political settlement,it would have happened during CFA.Instead Eelamists used CFA to bolster their military capabilities with foreign influences.
Karuna's threat to Eelam Tamil Terror Leadership made him isolated from Mullaitive.Soft approach to Karuna by GOSL made him play a major role in the hunt for Eelamists and their thugs by providing important information and some manpower to bolster MI and deploy DPU attacks on Eelamists.
Pilliyan has only been an accidental opportunist who seized the opportunity to gain power by deceiving Karuna. I have no sympathy to see those who brought armed violence to our society perish violently.Until Karuna achieves his goals for Leadership in the North Pilliyan will be left to keep guessing...:-)
By the way underline heading should have been all about Eelamists losing North.Since a ceasefire could not be negotiated by saraji and chennai mootan, kilinochchi will be out of bounds for Eelamists within next 48 hours...:-)

We all knew this was not going to work.

and the point is...even if this was going to work I would never say YES to this startergy. How can we provoke state violance..what an idiots!!

TCK is one of the many many Tamils who bought into this logic.
Just before the start of the war, EU banned LTTE and VP expelled the EU monitors in retaliation. Then they attacked civilians in the South - hardly an act of someone who calculated that IC sympathy will bring Eelam!

aani anna..

where did he say the ltte killed rg??

ab said , the rg's murder is a monumental tragedy in the course of our freedom....people of india (refered to narayanan) should change their minds and look beyond..

now imagine , the saying was said by you or me... it will have not much significance ...becase ab said, you take it as he apologized for the murder...while India hold ltte responsible,,,,anna your mind is trapped in maya...

Yes it is possible still, with or without VP, if MR continues to kill innocent civilians and delays political solution:))

Tigress19,

am i correct in saying that it was suppose to be hisbulla(not sure about the name) the CM of the eastern province instead of pillaiyan??

Hisbullah is the minister in charge of health matters and one really knows what is going on. Not only he was promised the CM post prior to the election to instigate him to leave SLMC but also there were 8 Muslim members against 6 Tamils in the EPC. Pillaiyan was chosen for 4 reasons

1. Pillaiyan and his cadres have guns and may start fighting SLA

2. Easily manipulatable and fooled than Karuna

3. Hisbullah knows what the working of PC and may demand more powers and money for development

4. To keep the LTTE in check

But MR has the power to sack Pillaiyan and or dissolve the EPC if and when Pillaiyan or any CM asks for more or does anything MR does not like.
