Upul . how big is your pond .
I have a 5K g pond with fish from Hoshiin , sakai , Sakazume etc about the same sizes as yours . How cold does your pond become . Do you actually heat yours ?.
Any news from the front .. There seems to be a news blackout from both sides.

Mine is similar with 5000g.Water temp maintained at 12-15C through a heat exchanger and a independent thermostat attached to my home boiler.Have a self destined filters named Eelam with K1 media with further 600g.Turnover is approximately 2500g per hour.Water quality is pretty good and the fish eats like dump trucks on Saki Hikari multi and fills my Eelam regularly.I empty Eelam daily around 6.30pm...:-) |

I dont have a heat exchanger in mine mate . too expensive to run in the Freezing MI weather .. Nice touch naming your crap filter EELAM .. . I usually shut down for the winter with a solar cover . . I have a 7800Ghp pump and ultima bead filter and a 300 g waterfall filter ..
The pumps are still running but I am not feeding now . will shut down the pump next week . |
