Lanka-e-News, November 21, 2008, 9.15 AM) Sources from the battlefield says that both the LTTE and the security forces suffered heavy losses after a section of Muhamalai and Kilali forward defense lines were captured by Army yesterday morning (20).

Reportedly, LTTE retreated as the Army advanced and captured the bunker line of the LTTE. Then they exploded the massive bombs hidden in the bunkers killing a large number of personnel and injuring more. Another number of personnel have disappeared.

Unconfirmed sources say that a large number of Army personnel have been killed and another group was injured.

We tried for three hours to contact Army spokesman Udaya Nanayakkara to obtain a statement but the phone did not respond.

Media Center for National Security says that they have not received information after morning.

Meanwhile, at the budget committee stage debate, United National Party (UNP) Kurunegala district MP Dayasiri Jayasekara asked the government to provide information regarding the accident that had taken place at Muhamalai. Minister Mahindananada Aluthgamage said in response that details would be issued later.

If that is true, isn't the right time to give Tamils the tight to choose whose side they are on, MR (SL Govt) or VP (LTTE). VP has said he likes the people Tamils choose who they want to vote for?

Will the govt call upon UN to arrange a fair and free referendum so that Tamils will be given a chance to test the claim of the govt-

Saleem the Velu follower.

Why do we need a referendum?. Drop your guns and see what will happen. Then people will decide the side they want to be with.

Civilians are slowly coming to govt control side from Velu's hell hole. So the people has chosen the side they want be and raise their offspring.

You are just a small Velu follower.

Overall not a good news for security forces, it seems to be the singala attam is coming to an end. More than 200,000 forces in the country on the payroll to fight against 3000 LTTE forces, what the hell Fosenka/Ngoth is doing .... One of the recent sarcastic comment by senior parlament minister quoted in the SL parliament lobby, name withheld as he is close to me, army forces can capture LTTE positions in Muhamalai provided they are waiting for LTTE to withdraw from its positions.

India on alert to nab fleeing Prabha

With the armed forces intensifying their operations against the LTTE and capturing the strategically important Pooneryn area, Indian defence authorities were on high alert in South India regarding a possible escape by LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran to India, informed sources said.

Official sources said that when the Sri Lanka military moves further into the areas occupied by the LTTE, Prabhakaran would attempt to reach the neighboring Tamil Nadu where the LTTE has strong backing from certain politicians and other sections of the community.

A security blanket has been laid in South India with war ships, air force surveillances and tight security along the coastal belt to prevent any LTTE infiltration. In recent times a large number of LTTE cadres had fled to Tamil Nadu. Although a few of them were arrested, most of the others managed to make their way to India, successfully pretending to be fishermen.

Source also said that the LTTE leadership may use their light aircraft to fly over Sri Lanka s land mass into the seas and from there take a boat used by the fishermen to reach India.

What a joke? I think SL is the only country where this i possible. He have killed more tamils and singalam than other person in this world and in the latest news, LTTE says there have been killed about 22.000 tigers since the war began in 1982 then imagine how many singalam and innocent people who have been killed! For what good? Only to destroy this country! Catch him alive!
