I missed this piece of jem. So putting it in the main thread for your enjoyment.

Celebrating the birthday of the President Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse, a Gem Studded Chair studded with 90 valuable gems - was presented to the Venerable Sangarakkhitha Thero, the chief incumbent of Kelalniya Royal Temple today (19th) in President s honour by the Minister of Labour Mr. Mervin Silva.

:)))))

The LTTE decides who works for the NGOs, and these aid organizations are persuaded, or coerced, to do what the LTTE wants. The families of those who get NGO jobs via the LTTE, are obliged to provide one or more teenage or adult men or women for the LTTE combat units, and these 'volunteers' are expected to be diligent soldiers, or else their families will suffer. These families also provide most of the suicide bombers

And why the gov. asked the NGO's out of North!!!

Pharoah, bro:

You are absolutely right... VP will be a figure head. Definitely Sampanthan or Jeyanandamoorthy would have broad appeal as political figures!
