No it isnt , Sarath Poneska clearly stated what are the true intentions of this war , I was just stating that !
Fonseka said that minorities should not put forward undue demands..
'undue' is the key word..
They can have demands, but not unjustifiable ones like asking for one third of the counttry..
I am OK and I think everyone will be ok giving the Tamil Community the proper recognition in Sri Lanka that is due towards a 6% minority community.. |

How many FDLs are there in Muhamalai?
They have only captured the first with abt heavy casulaties that could go as high as 2000 !
After holding the LTTE's 1st FDL for the last 3 days the SLA today officially declared it had taken control of the 1st Muhamalai and Kilali LTTE FDL. The SLA increased skirmished into the LTTE FDL for the last three to five days gaging and gradually working away at the LTTE's resistance until finally holding onto the newly captured 800m to 1km area by today morning.
Casualties to both sides are high with the SLA suffering around 300 casualties, including those killed and the walking wounded. Casualties to the LTTE could be less. The narrow corridor of terrain makes it difficult for either side to advance, but the objective of this latest venture into LTTE areas seems to be to force the Tigers concentrated defenses away from the 58 Division, which is now 6km west of Paranthan.

THE GIVE AWAY
Army maintained active defence in the area during last few years thwarting all LTTE attempts at Jaffna peninsula. The distance between Army FDL and the LTTE's was just 500m before the operations commenced. Now, troops have covered this stretch and heading further Southwards.

Time is the luxury of the modern day and the wish as much I had I could not visit all the 47 spots for that would entail a month long holiday. I started with Wariyapola, the Ravana Caves, Seetha Kotuwa, Laggala and Seetha Amman temple for these are the core Ramayana spots on the trail.
A small township in northwestern Sri Lanka, Wariyapola means an airport in the native language, Sinhalese. Wa, means air, riva is the craft and pola is a port. It was here, my guide told me, that Ravana built an airport. It is incomprehensible how the thought of an airport must have struck him then. Situated on a flat ground surface, without any mountains in view, it does make Wariyapola a perfect landing site.
