Lion,
definitely ... should grab a beer in the city sometime. I go to a fair few Lankan things - try and visit the temple in Schofields regularly, the food fairs etc. Used to go to a few dinner dances and other social events but its a bit tough these days with a young 'un.

Yeah, we should meet up!

Yeah, i go to schofields temple also... but not too often these days... I used to be heavily involved in everything, i.e. attend every event, but not too much these days... I still drop in to the food fairs, but only to grab some quick food... when I were young, we used to hang out outside there...

I'm sure we have met each other before! :) Do you know the Epa family? the twins girls?? the twin boys?? Dj Dinesh??? :)) (i've just picked some random names)

Lion, i really need to go to the gym now... so i'll reply to your message in about an hour.

Imp its global .... i think prospects of US car industry collapsing affected US markets yesterday and Asian/Euro markets are following the US markets today.

i think more than all look at the stock markets and see how much of a wealth been getting lost, that is not going any where just perish that is the biggest issue,it is the mirror of economic crisis we are facing now.

how is in ausi?

overall same .. just not as bad yet. property market hard hit and financial sector is in turmoil as a couple of major institutions that relied heavily on cheap debt to finance their investments have hit the wall. starting to hear of job losses/staff cuts here and there. good thing is that govt has a significant budget surplus to stimulate the economy and reserve bank has been (and is expected to continue) to cut interest rates. my view is that thisngs will wobble along like this for about 6-9 months before bottoming out.

in one way its not such a bad thing - american car industry is still too focused on building big cars with big engines when they really should be focusing their R&D on more economical vehicles. The Japanese and European manufacturers are well ahead of US in this aspect.
