Confiscation of funds collected by a registered charity of a minority for the benefit of the minority by the govt of the ethnic majority is a crime against humanity
Colombo confiscates Tamil rehabilitation funds
Tue, 18 Nov 2008, 23:51 GMT

Around 71 million Rupees in the accounts of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation (TRO) in the Sri Lankan banks have been confiscated by the Sri Lankan Government, according to a press release by the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka on Tuesday. The move is widely seen as an act of 'structural genocide' against Eezham Tamils, preventing Tamils looking after their own rehabilitation, discouraging individual, organisational and international contribution to Tamil rehabilitation and also as a response of Colombo to the rehabilitation funds being raised by the Government of Tamil Nadu, said a TRO activist in Norway.

President Bush's popularity was high when he sought his 2nd term
the reasons were
Even at this date in his presidency, after all that has happened, the president's popularity hovers at around 50 percent -- an astonishingly high figure, I believe, given the state of people's lives now as opposed to four years ago.

What can explain his popularity? Can that many people be enamored of what he has accomplished in Iraq? Of how he has fortified our constitutional freedoms with the USA Patriot Act? Of how he has bolstered our economy? Of how he has protected our environment? Perhaps they've been impressed with the president's personal integrity and the articulation of his grand vision for America?

Hey folks..Ohayo Gozaimus! (Good Morning)

The President is popular : Survey

More than half of the respondents to LMD-TNS Lanka s countrywide poll say that they would vote for President Mahinda Rajapaksa if elections were held now

The President s third year in office has seen his popularity rise, with a clear majority satisfied with his performance as Commander-in-Chief, according to business magazine LMD. And almost 80 percent of those who were polled feel that he is right to seek a military solution to the ethnic conflict, it observes.

They believe that terrorism must be eliminated and that the most effective way to end it is by means of military action, LMD reports, in its latest issue.

The magazine also says: Dismissing peace talks as being unnecessary, they
poll participants
maintain that sitting down at the negotiating table will not solve the issues that currently confront us.

President Rajapakse also enjoys a similar popularity that President Bush had. More than 50%, similar to his standing in his first election, support him due to his military attacks on Tamils. Of course the Sinhalese masses do not know the sufferings inflicted on Tamils by Rajapase's military adventure.

A high percentage also support his intended 'military solution', a dangerous trend to an inevitable separation. Rajapakse gears his electorates to a no-compromise Unitary State military solution the consequences of which has nbver been seen before.

Bush is the most unpopular president now in the history of US.

The danger of being led by the rhetoric and war histeria and racially aroused and motivated public rather than leading them to a better future has proved disastrous to American people and the world.
