Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE) in Jaffna put up stiff resistance against the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) that attempted to advance across Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE) Forward Defence Line four times between Monday noon till Tuesday 10:00 a.m. Heavy clashes erupted on multiple locations along the FDL on each attempt, the Tigers said. At least 36 SLA soldiers were killed and 90 wounded, the Tigers said. Meanwhile sources in Jaffna said Jaffna Palaali Road remained closed for public traffic several times within the last four days to transport the SLA casualties to Palaali military hospital.

According to the Tigers, the SLA has attempted to break the LTTE FDL three times on Monday and once in the morning of Tuesday. All the attempts were thwarted the Tigers said. The SLA continued artillery and Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) fire towards Vadamaraadchi East, Iyakkachchi, Paranthan, Kugnchup-Paranthan, Kumarapuram and the suburbs of Ki`linochchi throughout the morning.

In the meantime, an informed Sri Lankan military source Monday evening said the SLA Command in Jaffna had lost contact with two battalions. There was no further updates from the source on the missing battalions on Tuesday.

Despite Stiff Resistance, Troops Fight Back in Jaffna

JAFFNA: COLUMNS of heroic troops, extending their might through the KILALY and MUHAMALE Forward Defence Lines (FDL) were battling hard to pierce the enemy barriers in the past twenty-four hours at the time this report was pasted Tuesday (18) evening.

Determined troops, amidst heavy LTTE artillery and mortar attacks have gone beyond the FDLs in order to face the challenges of the enemy, ground troops in JAFFNA confirmed.

Troops were able to inflict heavy damages on the enemy during those battles. Casualties among the troops were admitted to PALALY Military Hospital and some of them were airlifted for treatment elsewhere.
Offensives against pockets of terrorists are still on.

To the plte diaspora herd!!

The re-capture of Pooneryn will not only facilitate the resumption of a land based supply route from Mannar to Jaffna. Such a route from the ferry at Sangupiddy (near Pooneryn) across the Jaffna (Kilaly) lagoon connected Karativu, located south of the peninsula

Why not donate the money to build a bridge!instead of dumping to maniac velu_pulle who has no future, and who is near decimation!!

NB: 'velu_pulle has no future' is not my thinking as we single cells find difficult locate the path of fantasy peelam and dreaming for never getting 'neverland'. It was told by your former 'battl Hardened' :)))), now a MP, ST.'Col' karuna Amman!!
Further we would much appreciate if you could tell us when a HIGH command leaves the plte rat org. what happen to their his/hers self styled (ST) positions!! Whehter you can retain it or removed by the 'this year hide and seek maveer anna aka velu_pulle' so that we can address him with a due respect!

Yeah why are the air lifting 'brave lions' for stubbed toes? SLA only gets stubbed toes when fighting the LTTE, they never get killed etc.
