India fares badly on global hunger index
NEW DELHI: The war-ravaged countries of Serbia and Lithuania are better off. So are people in cold deserts of Mongolia. Tiny nations such as
Surinam and Honduras have got a better handle on it and so have large diverse countries like China and Brazil. India, in comparison, is failing miserably to tackle hunger

Gonns:
Is the demand for a ceasefire a pretext to help the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) buy time and regroup, and not about providing relief for civilians caught in the crossfire between two armies?
histroy repeats itself if you let it....i think sl is fully aware of what the zhttp wants with a ceasefire! |

Gaja Madame
Good Day!
I posted a thing I read and saw on Aljazeera about Naxalites & state sponsored vigilantes. (PAGE 42) of this thread.
I just was searching stuff to see how other countries I the region deal with armed insurrections.
Your comments on that would be most appreciated. I know you would offer a proper objective comment.
Thanks. |

CHENNAI: With the CPI s State Council convening an all-party meeting on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue on November 17, the ruling DMK finds itself in a corner again.
The CPI has convened the meeting a day after Chief Minister M Karunanidhi reiterated the need for all political parties in the state to show solidarity with the Lankan Tamils.
The DMK, undoubtedly, is under pressure to push the Centre to act on the Sri Lankan conflict by Sunday itself as otherwise the decisions set to be taken at the CPI convened all-party meeting would go against both the DMK as well as the UPA governments, putting them in an embarrassing situation.
Embarrassed ? in TN ??? |
