Sexual harassment: man assaulted on bus in Sri Lanka

A young man who had allegedly attempted to molest a female law student travelling in a bus from Pettah to Moratuwa was assaulted by the commuters and handed over to the Moratuwa police.
On Tuesday, at around 8.30 pm, the suspect had harassed the girl while travelling.
He was produced in the Moratuwa Magistrate s Court and remanded till November 18, police said.

| Unfortunate the offender was not one of Mervyn's people. Had it been so, no case, no conviction for the alleged offender and the law student may have ended in court on charges of soliciting sex and prostitution!! |

| Such cases are very very common in slanka. Most of them happen in buses and trains. There is no need to blame anybody women should know how to cover their body so as not to provoke men. |
