UNP can't wait for the Junta to capture Killi...
UNP MP says can t forgive the Tigers
UNP parliamentarian Lakshman Seneviratne told parliament yesterday he had no mind to forgive the LTTE, which killed so many of Sri Lanka s leaders.
He said the UNP had lost a number of leaders including Gamini Dissanayake when he was campaigning for the presidency.
How can we forgive the LTTE and assuage our conscience at the same time, he asked.
Mr. Seneviratne requested the government to capture Kilinochchi quickly without dragging its feet.
' The government is continuously talking about taking Kilinochchi. Enough is enough. It is high time the area is captured, ' he said.
Mr. Seneviratne emphasized the need to evolve a political solution to the longstanding ethnic crisis confronting this country and criticized the budget which he said would lead the country into a massive debt.
Mr. Seneviratne should grow up and read this..

The Chief Minister made this remark when he visited the Mahajana College, Batticaloa to pay his last respects to Ragu.
'I have come to this conclusion following my visit to the crime scene in Athurugiriya and having a personal observation', he said.
The Chief Minister said that incidents like the loss of Ragu were a painful experience for peace loving citizens in a democracy.
This will negatively influence those who are moving from militancy to democracy, he said. |

'Occupation' of Poonakiri and not much talked about 2KM-Kilinochchi drama is to set the platform for a snap Gen. election before the political clouds bring trigger more rain and floods.
The two primary factors influencing the tilt towards a general election are the slow progress of the war and the serious economic crisis confronting the country.
A senior minister told The Sunday Leader the government would look to capitalise on the present popularity due to military successes before the pace slows down and the economic conditions take precedence as happened in the US presidential election. |

An attempt is made to cut Pillaiyan to size & to stop the influence of India in East ..
India has now decided to back Pillaiyan in east & Since Modapakshe came 'shellshocked' from his Delhi visit wanted to teach a lesson to India ...
Now Ragu the right hand man is gone & it does not augur well for future relations between India & GOSL.

UNP can't wait for the Junta to capture Killi...
This is the mindset that prompted UNP to sabotage B-C Pact in 1958, the racist agenda has not changed even after 50 years.
If the UNP was in power and military is in Wanni, the other opportunist party SLFP also would have made a similar remark to woo the racists. |
